We had a family room with 4 beds and bathroom, somehow separated from the others. There were works going on, to add two more rooms, but they were not disturbing at all. Casa Marbella is right by the river, with a shady terrace overlooking it,...More
We only spent 1 night in Tortuguero And Casa Marbella was ideal.
It's not fancy however the location is great, the bedroom is confortable and the views of the river are lovely.

We had a great 2 nights in Tortuguero in casa Marbella, which has very cute rooms, clean, and functional. Even wifi is great ;)
Breakfast is included and one of the best we've had in Costa Rica on comparable types of hotels.
The good thing...More
The waterfront verandah is a highlight of Casa Marbella and my family loved sitting and watching the river, wildlife and boats. Our room was simple but had a great view. Daryl could not have been kinder- even phoning me the night before to warn me...More
Casa Marbella is a modest hotel in the village Tortuguero, but with a lot of extra's. The superior fily room with view on the river is okay. There's enough space, a modern bathroom and three fans. Airco would be nicer with these hot temperatures, but...More

Late August is a great time to visit if you want to see turtles. The peak of the Green Sea Turtle nesting season is the third week of August. If you come towards the end of the month (or even in early September) you will still have an excellent chance to observe them and there will be fewer tourists in late summer.
We have a variety of rooms (no two are alike) and only two of them face the "road" (there are no cars in Tortuguero). Some face into the property and others face the river. Rooms are very affordable and fairly priced according to their size and the view.
Our most economical rooms start at a very reasonable $35 per night including taxes (single ocupancy). We do not charge for coffee, tea and the full breakfast served between 7:00-10:00 every day.
Most people spend the vast majority of their time wildlife watching in the national park (which is practically next door), exploring the village and the attractions in the surrounding area, or sitting on our large covered deck overlooking the river relaxing, sharing photos with their friends and family using our wireless internet, watching birds or just observing the boats going by.
Our guests tend to spend very little time in their rooms so if you want a clean, comfortable and affordable place to stay as a base for your explorations in the area I would recommend one of the more economical rooms.
I see you have already written to us directly. We will be sending you all kinds of details about our accommodations, how to get to Tortuguero and what activities you might like to try. We have friendly, highly-experienced, licensed guides who would be delighted to show you the natural marvels that make Tortuguero a must-visit destination in any nature-lover's Costa Rica itinerary.
Thanks for considering us for your stay. I am confident that you will be very well looked after and will take away some great memories from this little corner in paradise.
