Our hosts were very personable and accommodating to making our stay the most comfortable. The lagoon was where we spent most our time kayaking, snorkeling, stand-up-paddle boarding, swimming with all the gear available and easy to use. Susan always had plenty of great home cooked meals for us eat leisurely. Very relaxing yet full of sporting activity and interesting wildlife...

If you are looking for air conditioning and Jacuzzis, this is not your place. On the other hand, if you want to experience natural Costa Rica, I can't imagine there is any better place to do it. (We stayed in 4 lodges/resorts in Costa Rica - all were good, but this was, by far, the most amazing experience we had.)...

This was our first taste of "eco" lodging and we were delighted with Saladero. Susan and Harvey made us feel really welcome and more like friends of the family than guests. The lodge has stunning views from the verandah and the grounds and activities available made the stay an unforgettable experience. We were lodged in the Bach house which was...

My wife and I have made 8 trips to Costa Rica in 7 years and this was by far the best place we've been. Saladero Ecolodge is not just "eco" in name, but totally "eco" in practice as well. First class service from everyone, especially the owners - who also happen to cook the best meals we've had in Costa...

We stayed here for 11 fantastic nights. Harvey and Susan treat every guest with a kindness usually reserved for family. To begin, highly recommend booking this place WITH Saladero (like on their website), because they can offer invaluable information about getting to Saladero and about their accommodations that Booking.com and other tertiary sites can't offer. This is truly a special...

We stayed at Saladero at the beginning of the rainy season in July. If you're worried about the weather during this time of year - don't be! We would recommend everyone to travel during the rainy period - less crowds and it cools down nicely after a tropical shower. Staying at Saladero was like relaxing in paradise. Harvey and Susan...

Susan and Harvey are really dedicated to sustainability and hospitality. They open their hearth and heart to people visiting, giving us a chance to connect to nature, and to what really matters in life. Joy, friendships, beauty and purpose. An Eco-lodge with superb food, mostly grown locally.

Harvey and Susan are wonderful hosts - we thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay with them. I traveled with my grown daughter and 12-year old niece, and we stayed 3 nights in the Tree House and 2 nights in the Beach House. We did lots of activities - we went snorkeling, took a boat trip to Rio Esquinas to see...

My wife and I stayed here in July 2015 as part of a 3 lodge package (La Leona and Danta). This is a fantastic place to stay, and the hosts truly made us feel as if we were visiting family. The setting is beautiful with nicely groomed paths through primary forest, and the opportunity to see many animals. The location...

We stayed here from June 19 until June 23, 2016. It was fantastic! Upon arrival at Porto Jimenez, we saw scarlet macaws on the short, 10-15 minute walk to the dock for the boat pick up, scheduled ahead of arrival. On the trip to the lodge, we saw pan-tropical dolphins swimming in the gulf. Upon arrival we were greeted and...
