We stayed at Moana for 10 nights in March and absolutely loved it! We experienced each member of the hotel staff, including the owners' Aidan and Vicky, as professional, attentive, respectful and very friendly. The exceptionally warm and courteous energy we constantly received from the Moana crew made us feel like we were staying at a relative's estate! After each...

Wonderful views from the rooms up the hill and the restaurant. A short drive to town. The restaurant served wonderful tasty and well presented food.

Staff and owners friendly and helpful. Rooms very clean and comfortable, great bed. Saw howler monkeys in the car park and a range of birds. Restaurant had reasonable prices but 90 steps up, well worth it for views. Great beach walk into town. Stayed over a week, really liked sitting in the jacuzzi with a beer from the pool bar.

We stayed for almost a week at Moana in early February. Overall we had a good time there but there was definitely not the friendliness that many reviewers here have reported. We did a full writeup of our stay at our blog. http://mexicanandredhead.com/2011/02/27/moana-lodge/

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Moana Lodge. PROS Hotel has a boutique style feel. The atmosphere is relaxed, secure and friendly. The Junior suites were very nice and clean with stunning views of the Mal Pais coast. The restaurant/bar was the perfect place to watch the sun set over the ocean. Staff was friendly and curteous. Restaurant...

A boutique hotel with beautiful views, charming rooms, helpful staff and relaxing communal areas. Good restaurant and great cocktails which means you needn't go into town=perfect. Cab into town was about 4 dollars each way, but that's a lot cheaper than hiring a quad bike or car if you've got a short stay. Recommended.

Spent three nights at the Moana and I'll start with what I really liked. We stayed in the deluxe room and although it had no view the room itself was beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. There was a great patio with a hammock in the front. The breakfasts were always excellent and in the evenings we relaxed at the Papaya...

My fiance and I seek out the best boutique Hotels where ever we go. We like it more private and intimate but still with i sense that your still involved in the local scene. Mal Pais/Santa Teresa is a destination for beach lovers the world over. With more beaches to choose from than most places. However you would be hard...

My wife and I, impressed with the reviews on this site, stayed in a Junior Suite ad Moana for 5 nights over the Christmas holiday and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Aidan and Vicky are fantastic people who made us feel very much at home and were very helpful in arranging both surf lessons and a tour to...

We stayed at 3 different places in this area. This was the most amazing place to stay! We stayed in a junior suite. WOW! Our bedroom looks down at the ocean and the beautiful sunset! The service is outstanding! They will help you with anything. The food at the restaurant is amazing! After we left Moana, we actually paid for...
