Stayed at Verde Mar in January and had a wonderful experience. Costa Rica is not Hawaii, and this is not elegance by any stretch. That said, it has a great location right on the beach and easily walkable to the small village and its restaurants. That is more important than it might seem at first glance since most of the...

I would like to give Hotel Verde Mar a better rating, but circumstances... It has all the right ingredients. 100 feet from first beach in the national park (which is free, and very long). We saw white face monkeys in the trees, and on the roof! We used the hotel's bogie boards and had a blast riding the waves! The...

The hotel is ideally located 10 minutes from the National Park and right on the beach. Our room was clean, large and included a small kitchen. The staff were kind and very helpful. We loved the pool and the beach access. However, the highlight was the restaurant. The chef there loves to cook and he made us two incredible meals....

I stayed here when I had only one night available and wanted to visit Manuel Antonio Park and the beach. The van took me to the hotel from Quepos Airport for $6, I dropped off my bags, and got advice from the helpful staff lady at the hotel desk. I walked to the park entrance and into the park and...

The hotel was a short walk -- 2-3 minutes from the beach which was great for travelers with family. We had our 1 1/2 year toddler with us..The staff overall was very helpful and great except some were not to friendly. They even provided free boggie boards...great part is the kitchenette, pool, as well as bbq outside. We met a...

After reading the reviews for Verde Mar we planned accordingly. We brought coffee filters and a couple days worth of coffee, salt, and PBJ. We also brought our own beach towels and 2 bamboo roll up beach mats. One of our carry ons was a rolling back pack cooler! On the second day we went to the super joseth and...

I have stayed here a few times and have other reviews on Verde Mar, so I will try to not repeat myself. Since I was there last they have added a small food station in the lobby which is nice for snacks. The food is not cheap though, so we usually would eat at the soda right near the hotel...

My sister and I stayed at this hotel and were very impressed by the hospitality of all the staff. I ended up staying a couple extra days while looking for an apartment and was overwhelmed by the helpfulness of the staff. The proximity to the beach is amazing! They have their own private path to the beach or you can...

My mother and I stayed here for 3 nights in July 2011. The place is kind of funky and cool- interesting tiling and mosaics in the common area- and the private bridge to the public beach is great. However, our room was not very nice at all and very overpriced. The sheets seemed well used were not particularly nice. While...

We stayed in April 2010, a family of 5. The rooms were clean, pool was nice. The best part was the location. On the beach, and close to everything.
