My husband and I spent five nights at this hotel in early July. We actually booked the room at the last minute as we had changed our travel destination within CR. What an amazing place. We stayed in suite 11 for the first four nights and had to switch to another room the last night because suite 11 was booked...

The hotel has several different suites and 'villas'. They all have different views of the sea. One room we saw, a senior suite nr 9, was very dark inside and you had to climb much stairs to get there. It smelt a bit moist. The sea-view was limited because of all the trees. We decided to take suite nr 3,...

My wife and I stayed here for the first three nights of our month long honeymoon. We loved it. We stayed in Villa #10, and it was better than expected! The room was big, the bed was very comfortable, and the hammock was devine. Our favorite part was eating breakfast on the pourch every morning watching the monkey's play. We...

I got extremely lucky when everything else was booked and I had to search a little more to find this gem. I am honestly reticent to even post about this because I would hate to see it change and/or have trouble getting a room, but at the same time I want to ensure that they will be in business for...

We spent a few nights here to start off our honeymoon and this place was excellent. The chiparinis here are by far the best we had. I'm sure I miss spelled that. Anyway, the room was beautiful and very comfortable with the best view. They were super clean and the entire staff was very friendly. I could have eaten here...

The rooms are huge and elegant with large terraces where we hung out on the hammock. Loved that. Lots of monkeys around the pool and property, so we spent alot of time there. Their beach is not great, too rocky, but again we saw monkeys there so it was worth going to.

My wife and I went to Makanda by the Sea in early May, 2012 on our honeymoon. The first location we stayed in Costa Rica was Nayara (near Arenal volcano), which set the bar high. After flying into Quepos airport (recommended to save driving time), we got to the hotel. On first impression, the pool and grounds were incredible. We...

After spending several days in the cool mountains, we stayed at the Makanda by the Sea for two nights so we could see Manuel Antonio on our way to the Jaco region. It was truly one of the highlights of our trip. It was so hot compared to the mountains and after we took the guided tour of the park,...
