Tulemar resort is the perfect place for a family vacation! My husband, toddler and I stayed for 8 days and it was amazing! With a toddler, we ended up staying mostly on the resort grounds and there was a ton to do: go to the beautiful, private beach; swim in the pool; hike the tr

Tulemar was truly an amazing resort. We loved everything from our Monkey Villa, Concierge Andres and the wonderful staff who made our 25th anniversary unforgettable!
Make sure you take the Manuel Antonio National Park tour with Viviana, Inga Tours. She is a top notch guide!

I have to admit...I was a little selfish bringing my family to the Tulemar Sloth Institute(I FREAKING love Sloths and wanted to see some)We all agreed, though--THE BEST vacation, EVER.

Is the bar or restaurant open to the public or only for guests at the resort?
I would guess it is open to the public, but distances within the resort grounds are quite large and on steep slopes. I'm not sure its worth going in to eat or drink, unless you are also curious to explore the grounds. (which are beautiful and full of animals and birds)

Have previously stayed in 3 bedroom villa with wonderful view. What are the ocean views like at tule villa? There are no clear pictures of the view from the balconies published.
We have updated the Tule Villa pics and landscaping since you wrote this. Plus we still have more pics to put up soon... please look at the website under Tule Villa Pura Vida, Chris

When is the rainy season in Costa Rica?
Officially the rainy season begins May 1 and ends November 30. The Caribbean side has more rain more of the year in general. Some years the rains begin in mid to late April and some years later in May but the rains come on gradually, and the days are beautiful with occasional rains in the afternoon and often overnight. As May ends the rains increase through mid July sometime when there is a mini dry season of a couple weeks duration. Then from August onward the rains intensify until the rain is almost relentless. The northern Pacific coast is the least rainy but it is relative. Traveling in early May can get you great accommodations at reduced rates and beautiful weather with slimmer crowds.

What is the consensus for the best 1 bedroom accommodation at Tulemar with regards to ocean view, amenities, etc ? We like the descrption of the Bamboo Villas but there are not any reviews for them. Are they in a good location with ocean views and proximity to the beach and pools? TIA
All villas are about same in regards to views, amenities, etc. Getting to beach from any villa will require a shuttle ride or serious mountain hiking. Ocean views are restricted - more jungle than ocean. You are a long way from the beach - so far away you will never hear the surf. The whole resort is built on the side of a mountain. A steep climb up or down is required to go any place or do anything.

"Monkey Villa Room 304 Great View!"
"Needs to ask your travel agent about if your room offers ocean view before you book. Some of standard rooms may not have it."
"Call and ask about the views. Our view ended up not being great (wanted to see the beach but it was obstructed), but it wasn't that bad"
"Room 15 had more view than others"
"While we didn't see inside other bungalows or villas, the shuttle driver said 115 has the best views."
