Hear the waves and the jungle while using the in-room wifi. Clean, refreshing place. Could watch monkeys from my bed. Nice and helpful staff. No safe in room but they have a safe at the reception. Good spot in town, right next to the best restaurant, which oddly was a bakery - but actually had beautiful salads with fish. Great...

Wonderful experience. The perfect combination of tropical forest, beach and resting. A beautiful swimming pool surrounded by the nature and with view to the beach. The location of the hotel is perfect. Good breakfast, which is included. At night, when we went, there was a special BBQ, delicious. We stayed in one of the bungalows with kitchen for two nights....

My family and I travled to Costa Rica 6 years ago, and just went back for another week. We remembered Luz de Mono as being terrific, and so we booked four nights again this trip. You're right in town, but once entering you feel as if you have entered an exotic jungle. When arriving, the owners and staff couldn't be...

We stayed here for 9 nights in the middle of a long tour. We wanted a hotel with a large pool close to the beach, close to the town, but away from the noise, with big bright rooms, good breakfasts and lovely gardens. Mono de Luz has it all with great staff and a delightful atmosphere. The pool is terrific...a...

This was our favourite place that we stayed during our three weeks in Costa Rica! The grounds are incredible, and the manager, Lora and her husband make you feel like family when you are there. She loves having kids stay there and will give them bananas to feed the capuchin monkeys who come to visit the breakfast area every morning....

Friday through Sunday nights, the hotel offers a first-rate BBQ to all comers, starting at 6 pm. The night atmosphere is relaxing -- warm, a bit of wind, tables interwoven among the trees, a large BBQ pit with a bright fire. A younger couple runs the BBQ, he is an excellent Tico cook, she is a quietly charming waitress transplanted...

We stayed at the Hotel Luz de Mono for 3 nights. It is a rustic hotel set in a lovely forest garden where wildlife can be seen - you may be woken by the deep calls of howler monkeys! We had a deluxe room which is probably worth the extra money - they are on the first floor and look...

We enjoyed probably our best dinner out last night at the BBQ at the hotel luz de mono. The prices were decent and the portions huge. I got the Drunken Beef - a 12+ ounce steak that was done a perfect medium rare with a lovely red wine sauce, sides were a tasty potato and salad. My BF got the...

We first found out about Luz de mono from reading a sign about a garden BBQ.. We were with a group of 15 and decided to give it a try. It was beyond amazing.. The food, service, ambiance, and location were nothing short of perfect. The BBQ is only Thursday-Sundays but out group returned the next day, and the next...

This is one of uur top locations for sportief wildlife in Costa Rica. We saw a lot of howler monkeys, capucins, agouti, coati, squirls, iguanos, butterflies,... Good locatid near the beach of montezuma and the little Town. Also there is a good atmosphere in and around the hotel. The bad thing is That the rooms are overpriced because they are...
