After arriving in Montezuma and staying at one of the hotels in town, we decided to search for more comfort...and did we ever find it! From the moment we stepped onsite, we knew we had found a jewel. Awesome view from our villa of the jungle and the ocean, what more could one ask for! The villas are very well...

We love Casa Frangipani - obviously! But so does everyone who stays here so rather than repeat what the other reviews say, we would like to make an additional point or two. In terms of pros and cons, I can think of only one con and it is only that if you are lazy, unfit people like us who hate...

Great view. Great house. Clean. Private. Well kept. Reasonably priced. Saw good amount of wildlife. Well equipped kitchen to cook your own meals. A pool is shared but it seems private as no one goes at the same time. Outdoor shower was awesome.

Casa Frangipani truly made our trip to Montezuma a 5 star experience! From the second we walked onto the property, we couldn't get over the beautiful, scenic views of both the ocean and the jungle, and were pretty giddy the entire time we were there...we just felt so lucky to have found such an amazing place to spend our vacation....

This place is truly special. Howler and capuchin monkeys played in the trees just outside our deck. The views from the rooftop terrace of the ocean, sunrise/sunset and nearby thunderstorms were breathtaking. We bought fresh marlin from a local and made fresh ceviche in our well stocked kitchen. Alex (the caretaker) takes immaculate care of this beautiful property and his...

My wife and I stayed two nights at this incredible lodging. Never having been to Montezuma beforehand, I was uncertain as to whether to stay in town, or at Casa Frangipani. It was nice to be away from town. We had a car and it was no problem quickly going into town and finding parking. You'll get used to the...

Love this place! Drowsing on the wide porch with the soft breezes blowing flower petals by me made me feel like I was in a movie. The orange and purple natural jewel crab in the open-air shower drain popped in and out to entertain me as I bathed, but never threatened my toes :). Gorgeous gardens, fabulous staff, and a...

We inadvertently stumbled upon these villas while visiting Montezuma last month and were blown away at the little slice of paradise we found. The villas are very private with a modern twist. Polished concrete floors and kitchen countertops was the first space we saw. The outdoor shower and beautiful veranda topped it off. There is also a rooftop patio which...

Casa Frangipini and Montezuma stole our hearts! My partner and I drove to four areas around Costa Rica - La Fortuna, Montezuma, Uvita, and a small village outside of San Jose to be close to the airport. Montezuma was our favourite and we owe a great deal of our dreamlike experience to Casa Frangipini! Ken, Alex, and Jerry were the...

Firstly, a hilltop location is essential when staying in Costa Rica's hot climate in January. Nice comfortable breezes. There's not enough air movement at sea level in Montezuma town. We loved the morning wake up call of the howler monkeys and the beautiful birdsongs. Frangipani is at the perfect level of the tree top canopy to see all of the...

“Travelers to Montezuma and the local area should be advised that an SUV or 4x4/quad is highly recommended. If not, prepare to take taxis as walking is not advised for the elderly due to the extreme hills. I stayed in Villa #1, which is at the far end of the property away from the pool. Other renters liked particular units based either on proximity to the pool or distance away from the pool--all of the villas are identical inside with the exception of the 2 story unit.”
