I would recommend to stay couple of nights after the hike in Corcovado at La Leona Lodge before returning to Puerto Jimenez to relax since it is very unique experience in the jungle with all the comfort.

Amazing place if you appreciate quiet and calm. You have to walk about 45 minutes to get to this place. No electricity, no WiFi, just the ocean roaring away and deserted beaches to walk on. We spent two days here after our hike in Corcovado. The staff is friendly, the food good. Beware of the riptide.

You can't write your Tripadvisor review here, because there is no Wifi. Isn't that great?! So, a great place to unplug. We were here for 3 nights and stayed in the most 'basic' tent, but it was all that we needed. Good beds, bug screens, a roof over our head, a nice deck with good chairs to read, relax and...

A truly delightful place to stay. The staff is super friendly and the surrounding area is truly beautiful. Perfect Glamping with monkeys swinging in the tree above you while you take a shower outside. If you want a more remote experiences this is the place.

The most important thing I want to mention is food. Many reviews said the food portions were skimpy. The lodge must have made a drastic change because the portions were more than adequate and I am one of those scrawny people who eats like a horse. I never ran out of food to eat and the food we packed in...

Overall a great stay at a place which is really special: only accessible on foot with 3 km walk. Beautiful cabins with fantastic open air bathroom. The tours are well organized as well. The staff is friendly. The lunch and dinner are good but very simple. As such the pricing at $20 and $25 pp are a bit on the...

I loved this place. If you are looking for luxury you are looking in the wrong place. Set well into the forest this is a good example of Glamping. This was as beautiful a place as you could ask for. Crashing waves on the beach and Scarlet Macaws flying everywhere, this is a location second to none. I had concerns...

This place is unique, remote and life changing. First the hike from Carate to Leona warms you up for what is coming. Then the welcome from the staff, a glass of cold water and a nice chat with someone really interested in what you have to say. Then you give up your belongings that need to be in the safe...

Great stay! When in Carate go and stay at Leona. It's a bit of a hassle to get there but that's the charm. In dry season: drive to Carate (don't let Lonely Planet scare you about this drive), park your car, leave the luggage with the horseman and walk to the lodge. It's a lovely hike (not very far) where...

La Leona Eco Lodge is located between Playa Carate and one of the main entrances to Corcovado National Park. The name La Leona - meaning Lioness or female lion - is derived from the ancient assumption by locals that the Puma, which is widely found in the area, was a female lion. La Leona is owned by Walter and Salma...
