When Belinda Carlisle sang about heaven being a place on earth, she must have been thinking about Bolita (even if the hostel itself didn't exist at the time...). The natural environment is a dream for backpackers on a budget who, like me, are reluctant to...More

Had the most amazing time. If you'r into nature, this is your place. Be prepared to hike beautifull places and enjoy great kindness from the owner and volunteers. Book several nights, because you will extend your stay anyway.

I spent here 2 incredible weeks. Super relaxing stay, in the middle of the jungle, having dinner at candle light, waking up with the sun and the animals' sound, meeting wonderful people, hiking every day. You will enjoy river walks, waterfall swim and incredible viewpoints...More

I'd like to know if we get to see lots of wildlife while staying at Bolita. I saw that the hostel is in the middle of the rainforest but on the outskirt of Corcovado NP. So do we get to see many animals on the trails or is it still preferable to hire a guide for a day to visit Corcovado. and if so, what are the approximate fares? Thanks.

I would still do both. Both are different experiences and very worth it. We saw toucans out our window every day at Bolita (was fantastic!) and there are a lot of frogs in the area. There are also sloths but we never got... More

Hey there, I would love to come and help out at this hostel as a volunteer! I have about 3 weeks starting March 14 until April 3 that I would love to experience the deep jungle and live among the wildlife near Corcovado park. I've been in Costa Rica since January and the Osa Penninsula is on my list of places to stay! Please let me know if we can arrange something! Can't wait to hear from you!! -Maddie
