I did make a reservation by mail far in advance for room number 5 because of the outside shower. When we arrived early in the afternoon the owner told us that room number 5 was not available. We could get another room. I did told him that I did not like this. He did offer a discount. The room was...

We stayed here for 2 nights, it is a lovely place. Beautiful garden with lots of flowers and birds, very clean (and quite new?) air conditioned rooms with good showers - just what we needed after hiking in Corcovado in 33 degree heat!! Really enjoyed our stay, Mark was very welcoming, gave us a map of the town and advice....

first time we arrived to cabinas tropicales, gringo mark casually informed us that he had overbooked, and that our reserved room was no longer available. he was amicable enough about it, and led us to a neighboring hotel, which was fine. we were promised an upgraded room for our return stay less than a week later. however, when we returned,...

I apologize for the overbooking. At the time of your stay I purchased a new booking platform which turned out to be a disaster. I had problems with overbooking. We have replaced it to say the least. Sorry for any inconvenience caused by us.

We enjoyed our stay for week in this garden atmosphere. It was fun to visit with other guests in the common area. The communal outdoor kitchen was spacious and clean with decent cookware. The nice hardwood counters made it easy to work independently of other guests. There is space for your food and everything is well organized. At the end...

Very modern, clean and simple rooms with wonderful outdoor bathroom/shower area. The kitchen for guests is open and has beautiful local handmade wood countertops and tables.. The owner is very available and he lets you use the bikes for free! The kitchen could use a supply of salt and pepper or other spices that people want to leave to share....

Mark the owner is so friendly and helpful. He sorted a fab Kayak tour into the mangroves for us which was just brilliant!!...

We spent 3 days in Puerto Jimenez (prior and after a trip to Corcovado National Park) and were enchanted by our stay at Cabinas Tropicales. Rooms are basic but nice, clean, and spacious. Air con works perfectly. The "lobby" is a cozy open space full of plants and flowers where you can have a drink while chatting with other travelers...

For a very reasonable price, this place (designed and built and by Mark, the owner) gives you a clean, air-conditioned room and a comfortable common area where you can visit with fellow travelers, who are likely to be in the area to visit Corcovado National Park. During my visit, I found Mark to be extremely helpful in arranging a cost...
