We stayed only one night. The room was in excellent condition, with a perfect view to the sea. The hotel is located on the seafront, and although the beach is very bad kept with trash on the sand, it is a plus this location. breakfast is included on an average price and is basic. Personal is very friendly

When we have stay at this hotel, around 2010, Puntarenas wasn’t a well visited sea side town by foreigners. We arrived at the hotel Toga during the “La virgin de la mar” festival. I think we where the only foreigners among this packed crowd of Costa Ricans vacationers and locals. The Hotel Toga was the only one where a room...

Stayed 1 night in Puntarenas when forced to stay due to traffic accident halting our road trip down to the pacific coast. Managed to negiotiate a 20% discount on the original price offered by reception- was still pretty expensive at 90 dollars for the night including breakfast (which was average at best). Room was large but basic, with good views...

We booked this hotel since it was recommended in "Lonely Planet". When were taken to our room, we decided to leave straight away. - There was poor security, the safety box didn't work, the balcony door didn't lock. - The air conditioning didn't work well (or perhaps the batteries of the remote control were old), to we could only switch...

My husband reserved the "executive suite" for several days on our vacation. We were given a 4th floor room with a mediocre bed, an old TV, two plastic lawn chairs, and an old dresser. The balcony had dried bird excrement on it and there were no other amenities. The noise from the dirty parking lot/ beach across the street went...

I have visited this hotel for as long as I can remember, but the standard was not by far the same as it has been upon previous visits. We had booked the so called "BEST" room in the hotel with a balcony, however upon arrival to the room there was nothing special about the room at all, not even a...

Have stayed in this hotel perhaps 5 or six times over the last 15 years. The hotel was once the best on the seafront but is a little faded now. Previous criticisms of the slight shabbiness of the rooms and pool area are all true, the breakfast is sparse. The alleged free Wi-Fi signal is so slow as to be...

We spent a very nice few days at this hotel. There is nothing fancy here. We had a balcony room on the fourth floor. The room was furnished fairly simply but was certainly adequate for a short stay. All of the staff were very friendly and exceedingly helpful. The complementary breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs, rice & beans, bread, fresh...

As I've read from other reviews, this is "the only hotel on the beach". Unfortunately, this doesn't entail having nice rooms or common areas. The rooms were small and cramped, and we found cockroaches in the shower both nights that we stayed there. As we were in a large group, I asked around and found that others had also found...
