Transportation from San Jose Airport expensive and difficult to arrange for a first-timer. Very nice and well equipped room. Beautiful, well kept grounds. Rather remote location with limited local food options; needed transportation off grounds even to grocery shop. Excursions arranged by staff were great!
When we checked in to the hotel there were what we thought were spiders all over our room. Luckily for us once we talked to the helpful people at the front desk we were informed they were baby crabs and not spiders, huge relief! While...More
I have just returned from a week at Pueblo Real. I had an awesome time. It is located about 10 minutes out of Quepos, down a dirt road (seemingly typical of any secondary road in Costa Rica). From the outside it looks like a motel...More
We just returned from a wonderful week at Pueblo Real. Once you get to the end of the dirt road, there is a beautiful well landscaped area in the midst of the rain forest. Brilliant color from tropical flowers and plants, hot sun shining down...More

When we were there we saw one or two open spots at sunrise. I believe all rooms were occupied. The resort has a security guard overnight. I agree that you could park on the road, it's a dead end street and Pablo Real is the last building before the river. Not a lot of traffic. Expect dust in the dry season. There are coconut palms by the parking lot, so be carful for falling coconuts.
