My friend and I stayed in a private room here for a night while in San Jose before departing for further travels. While it is located a bit far from the airport, the area is nice and has many restaurants, bars, etc around. Check in was super easy (my friend and I arrived at separate times). The owner, or front...

Great staff! Very willing to help you out, with anything from recommendations to making sure your stay is comfortable. Accessible kitchen, and large dorm room (private girls dorm, with its own bathroom) was definitely nice. It's a far walk from the center of town, but not bad. There's not too much to do in town, I imagine people pass in...

Stayed at Hostel Urbano in Jan 2017, we only stayed a night as we were flying out the next morning but wish we would have stayed longer when we first flew in and stayed in San Jose. Cool lounge area downstairs and upstairs. Fenced off backyard is roomy and relaxing, they have another area that's small with a couple hammocks....

I stayed here just one night on my way through Costa Rica but my bus didn't leave until 11pm the following night and they very kindly let me leave my luggage so I could see some of the city and then hangout at the hostel later until it was time to leave for the bus. Staff are really informative and...

Hostel Urbano is a recommendable hostel with nice and comfortable common areas. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast (pancakes and fruits) was included and good. We had a double room, most of the dorms looked nice from the outside with a lot of wood. One dorm is between the kitchen and washing machines, this one is probably a...

I had to stay almost a week at Hostel Urbano after breaking my toe and being on crutches. The staff immediately moved my room downstairs and made sure I had a bottom bunk. They have been extremely professional and helpful throughout the entire week, and they went above an beyond in helping me get around and get things I needed....

Everybody who works here is very nice and accommodating. They have a binder with clear directions to anyplace you might want to take off to in Costa Rica from San Jose. It's owned and run by a family and it has that family vibe. We are a couple in our thirties and opted for our own room which was clean...

It's located in a nice area, with a mall, restaurants, a university, banks and it's not noisy at night. We walked there from down town but most people would probably just grab a cab. It's clean, a big nice kitchen, fair prices for the rooms, pooltable, a little garden, laundryroom, nice TV area. Good information about Colombia at the hostel,...
