I normally stay at the Dunn Inn in Costa Rica. This trip I decided to stay at The Famous Del Rey because a few of my friends were all staying there. The rooms there are average. The bar Casino is always busy. This is not a Hotel for children. Adults only (read between the lines). If you are looking to... More

This is a great place. My boy LF spent tons and tons of money here. So much ao that I am sure he couldn't even afford postage stamps when he left. Only negative about this place is that they didn't have a pool, but they do have plenty of other amenities to make up for it!!!

Nice hotel quite central located in San Jose. Nice staff and some English speaking. The service was quite good. The hotel can be a bit loud some times. Everything just worked perfect and the room were quite nice and roomy. The beds were good. The food in the hotel is good. All in all a good hotel.

We went just for the entertainment value and I have to admit, that is the strangest buffet I have ever seen. When we (5 men in their 40s) went to the "sports bar" we thought we would be in a dark scummy room looking at prostitutes on the prowl. The room was modern, well lit and furnished like a TGI... NOT what it used to be. Oh, yes the prices are still high, but now the hotel/bar is open to all...however, the shortage of tips always blamed on gringo's. Girls...very few Ticas, old ones at that. Most of the "girls" are hard core hustler types from out-of-country. Food sucks, prices for the food is gourmet high...similar quality can be found... More

You really should visit... perhaps not for the faint of heart........ I always treat myself to a Cheese burger in Paradise.... excellent room service. Do have the all you can keep down or care to eat (your choice) across the street at the restaurant... well worth it... you can eat one and be good for all day, an all around... More

Growing up in a rough NYC neighborhood, and, having traveled the globe extensively, I thought I had seen it all..... Not even close! I was totally unprepared for what came my way. Not less than 10 beautiful for every man in the building! Young, sexy, scantly clad women in all shapes and sizes. I'm like a kid in a candy... More

Busy freelance/pick up bar. They have a "casino", some slots and some run down tables. Get rid of the casino and the place would still be the same, packed with freelancers. Drinks are $3000 colones, a little pricey so pregame else where. It is sight to see anyways.

This place is right next door to the colonial casino and sleep inn hotel. This place has a lot of dressed up prostitutes looking for clients and a lot of men looking for company or simply taking in the sights. The bar isn't that dangerous but is very interesting to watch. Beers are 2000 COl or slightly less than 4... More

About the only hotel in Costa Rica that you can get a smoking room. Very old and Charming. For the single male traveler. The hotel has a casino. Lots of local ladies hang out to meet the travelers, speaking Spanish helps.
