I stayed at El Sesteo for about a week while having dental work done. The staff was friendly and helpful. The central courtyard had lush landscaping and a pool with jacuzzi. I looked forward to the delicious breakfast served daily, and the coffee was what you would expect in Costa Rica - excellent. The hotel has controlled access and a...

Booking was made months in advance and check in went without a problem. Staff were friendly and professional. Location was within a 15 minute walk of the main shopping street and markets of San Jose. Very secure hotel with a guard at the main door 24/7. Having said that, I walked regularly in to town and back and never had...

El Sesteo is a bit out of the main town, in a noisy location near trains and roads. The rooms need upgrading but the bathrooms were ok, with hot showers. I thought I wouldn't sleep well due to the noise but actually slept fine. The pool area is quite nice but small and noisy again, so only ok for a...

Hotel location does not provide easy access to restaurants or areas of interest. Rooms are basic and in need of a refurbished with no air conditioning. No tea / coffee facilities are provided, nor is any drinking water provided in the rooms. Staff were not friendly or approachable. We stayed one night prior to a tour and cancelled the night...

The pool and main hotel areas are very nice, breakfast was delicious! Also although the reception isn't open 24 hours there was a security guard, so checking out at early times is not an issue. The rooms are very basic but what you would expect for the price. Everything is clean and well presented but just slightly dated.

This hotel is located in central San Jose, and not in the best part of town. The hotel sign is small and from the street side doesn't look like a hotel so it can be hard to find (across the street and just down from McDonald's). The rooms vary greatly. Some are large with kitchenettes, others are bare bones and...

The hotel is simple and the picture is better the the hotel it self. The shower was bad. The room is old too, without air conditioning. I do not recomend. The breakfast was poor, but I think it's quite the same if you look arouns the nearby.

This hotel is very unassuming from the outside in what feels like a very touristy run down part of San Jose. Inside there is nothing to complain about, nice pool, rooms are fine, breakfast was good but didn't try the restaurant, the staff were helpful. For the same price there are some much better options further out of town.
