A nice option of staying in San José. We spent two nights there and had no issues. The rooms are clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast at the resteraunt had a nice mix of fresh fruit, traditional foods, and some North American options. The pool was lovely, and you can have drinks served to you in the pool area.
Mmmmm its an interesting one... this hotel is clean, spacious and friendly but my god the city is a sh*t hole. I'd honestly recommend just getting out of there. Don't waste your time staying here and just get to somewhere better. The city is a dump.
I was traveling with Overseas Adventure Travel. We were to stay here on the first night as our tour began, and then again for two nights at the conclusion. Partway through our travels I contracted Covid and was sent back here to quarantine for a week. I was given a secluded room and all my food was left outside my door when I called for room service. The staff were as sweet and accommodating as could be. Waiter Elton was especially friendly. Raquel at the front desk was super helpful to me when I was finally freed and had a day to go sightseeing. She taught me how to use Uber and helped me to translate and understand the activity information. Maybe it was because I had to eat many many meals here, but I did not think that the food was very good. Sometimes it was simply over cooked. There was always delicious fresh fruit to choose from. it is about a 2 mile trip from this hotel to the national theater and museums which I believe they referred to as a Cultural District. I would not feel comfortable walking it at night. Compared to the other places I've seen in Costa Rica, San Jose is less clean and feels less safe. It is quite crowded!…
This is quite a smart mud range city hotel. The rooms are a good size and coffee machine and two pods of coffee per day supplied (although only one crema). Had a very nice dinner in the restaurant with very attentive service. There is a pleasant central area with swimming pool. Wifi works well.
The hotel is good in service, food, and personal but is not comfortable that outside is cooler than inside the room please take care about that because is not possible to sleep with the door open please take care of that detail the remote control is fix in 23 grades and local temperature is under 20 grades so the room is hotter that the outside
Stayed for two separate nights during our transit in and out of SJO. Rooms are basic at best (and that’s being generous). Both the rooms that we stayed in were dark, dingy and smelt of dampness. The bathroom fixtures were broken and very worn out. For a three start hotel (debatable) I would expect them to have sealed water bottles in the room and a mini fridge. Since we checked out of the hotel quite early on both occasions, we didn’t have our breakfast so can’t comment on their food. If you really don’t mind staying out for a couple of hours until your next departure, this might work for you. Definitely don’t recommend this for more than a night
Hotel was good. You can hear loud people in the pool area. Good location. Its a good jumping off point on the way to the airport. They had a pretty good breakfast spread. The platanos are good. We had a little trouble with the flush in the toilet. The floater will not go down to refill the water. I had to open the top to push the float down every flush.
Our first taste of Costa Rica and we loved this hotel. the rooms were good, the pool excellent and the food of a very high standard. The staff were very accommodating and our rooms were clean and tidy
Stayed at Autentic Hotel for 2 nights and couldn’t of asked for a better visit. For each of the two breakfasts I was offered beautiful Costa Rican food with varying bits each day. From Salchicha to huevos and Gallo Pinto. In terms of the room, it was comfortable and well equipped.
Great location and close to shops, restaurants and bars. It appears many tour groups stay a night before traveling to other locations in Costa Rica. Some people on the tour used the pool and said it was a little cold but good to swim. The water in the room is a nice touch!
