Built in 1925, this hotel is full of charm and architectural beauty. Ralph goes out of his way to be an accommodating host, always at the door for you. Spent 2 nights for its proximity to the downtown area museums. All walkable from here.

This hotel is an old classic Victorian house. It has a lot of charm, and the price is right. I will be staying here many more times.I stay in San Jose at least twice a month. The breakfast is simple, but good and the rooms are spacious.

We stayed here for two nights on our honeymoon. Staff was pleasant and the attached restaurant was good. The building itself is an older style that is quaint. The neighborhood is loud with lots of traffic and and train. Few amenities but comfortable. Overall I would stay again.

I stayed for over a week and was pretty happy with my stay. The only thing I would say is that there is a Train that blares its horn early in the morning and often. It took a few days but eventually I was able to get adjusted to the noise. You may want to bring ear plugs. An easy walk from the hotel to the downtown area. The floor was dirty my bare feet would be black if I walked on the floor too much without socks.

The historic Posada Del Museo is located within walking distance of downtown San Jose, museums, and nightlife. The staff was exceptionally friendly, the room very spacious and clean, and the breakfast tasty. The one downside is that the hotel is situated along a very busy street, causing some noise from the early morning. Therefore, I'd recommend the hotel to anybody who doesn't want to spend their vacation in Costa Rica in bed.

It's a nice place, wooden made colonial infrastructure, very central as a matter of fact is located on the 2nd ave, one of the most transited one in town. It also offers cafeteria and restaurant service, 24/7, reservations available, reasonable price, you can take a walk around the city main places and go back walking, however, per its location tends to be a bit noisy during day and early night hours. Funny note, their rooms are named after flowers.

This room was clean and the hotel was average. It is noisy. A train goes by many times during the day. The pictures of the hotel make it look more well maintained than it is. The area of town is not in good walking distance to the sites.

Centrally located and across the street to the Museo Nacional, this quaint and old hotel offers a family ambiance in downtown San José. Its broad balcony, old woods, hand-painted ceilings and homey feel, was a refreshing break from the big-and-expensive hotels. Rooms that face the Avenida Segunda (2nd Ave.) can be a bit noisy at night. Next time we'll try one of the back-facing rooms.

The building is very beautiful. It's really near the city center. The train travels almost "inside" the building! ;-) But it's a nice detail, at least for me! The rooms are very different among themselves. We stayed there for 1+1+1 nights (3 nights but not in successive nights) and we had 3 different rooms. The first 2 were huge, suitable for 3 pax. The last one was a lot smaller but above average also.

Stayed here on 3 separate occasions, twice in the magnolia room and once in the toucan room. The guys at the desk were really helpful and friendly. The rooms were spacious . Beds a little lumpy and water was cold on occasion but they were the only down sides. The breakfast was lovely. Location was central. Everything you could want for an overnight stay. There was a train that would run outside and was noisy but didn't really bother that much.
