Very well locates and friendly staff.
Cute patio with a very small pool. We enjoy the location next to downtown, restaurants and museum
Water for the showers could have been warmer as the temperature outside was relatively cold

This high-value hotel is tucked back from the street in central San Jose within easy walking distance of the central art market and a wide variety of restaurants. They also offer a shuttle service to the airport, which was very appreciated since we had to make a 6am flight.

We had a very small room compared to others in our party for the same price (avoid Room 35, if possible). There was also quite a lot of street noise from our room. Other rooms are located farther away from the street and may not have that issue. But overall, at about $75/night, it's a great option, especially since it includes breakfast. Despite the minor issues, it was much better than staying at the airport, since we were able to walk around San Jose, go to the art market and have one more Costa Rican meal at a nearby restaurant before leaving.

Easy to find : go to the Chinese gateway on Avenida 2, 2nd left and you walk right into the hotel. The city center, all the parks, the museums, the Mercado artisanal, bus stops, it is all just a 5 minutes walk away.
Quiet at night, helpful staff and OK breakfast.

We stayed here one night on our landing in SJ because we wanted to see SJ a bit. The hotel is okay, and the food is good. We made the mistake of booking a room on the street side and it was so noisy we couldn't sleep. The room itself was fine and the bed was comfortable, but I would not stay there again. Hotel staff was not terribly helpful.

My husband asked for a quiet room on the upper floor when we booked it. When we got there, one of unfriendly staff said she was giving us the first floor since my husband asked for. Since we were tired, we didn't argue and stayed on the first floor. Until late night, I could hear all the noise from its dining area. Please make sure you don't want the first floor.
When we walked into the room, it was humid and had bad smell. I didn’t even want to sit.
The room is small. OK. That's ok that's what we paid for.
Breakfast: It was supposed to be served from 7:30. Only one staff worked. Each day whoever served the meal had different rules. Terrible breakfast. Continental breakfast, two pieces of white bread, jam and fruit. Poor. That’s ok it may be that’s what we paid for.
Thank God, I stayed only 2 days. It is hard to believe 5 star reviews. Whoever left 5 star review, did you guys really stayed there?

I gave the hotel 4 stars because of the location and the service. It is walking distance to the theatre, the market, Chinatown, and many other places. It is also across the street from the fabulous La Esquina restaurant. The woman at the front desk was extremely helpful. She made a reservation for us at the restaurant, got us a taxi to the airport, and answered many questions we had. The rooms are small and there's no a/c, and the bathroom had a leak from the toilet. The chicken sandwich at lunch was good, but we didn't eat care for the breakfast. For one night it's a good place to stay, and the price is cheap.

Thank you so much for your review. It helps us to improve our services and motivates us. We are going to check about the leak. About the A/C, San José has a mild weather, and also we have a sustanaibility policy so we try not to use A/C; but all of our rooms have overhead fan.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel while in San Jose. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean. The bathroom only had one light. The shower water stayed hot. They have a restaurant with lunch, dinner and cafe items available. They are within minutes walk from the National Museum, Metropolitan Cathedral, and other population tourist attractions in San Jose. As they are located in downtown San Jose, they do have a lot of noise from the streets which can make it hard to have a comfortable sleep. They have breakfast, but we were unable to use as we had other plans. Airport rides are available 24 hours a day for $30 USD.

After the blow and hammer of a tough day, a warmhearted, thoughtful concierge greeted me and made me feel right at home. My cozy, quiet, very comfortable and elegant room felt safe and conducive to rest. Sleep-deprived, I slept, for the first time in a long time, the night through. Kind and cordial servers offered the free breakfast with a variety of American and Spanish choices. Each server thrived on sending happiness and laughter to us when apt, even offering, when conversation invited, fun, day-travel suggestions. They created the atmosphere that invited conversation between travelers and truly made my day fresh and inspiring. Even my work became a breeze. I will never forget these people and the happy feeling in my heart.

Stayed here for two nights. The hotel is small and when you try to take a taxi to it the taxi drivers are likely to take you to the much bigger colonial centre. It's right in the centre of town so it's in reach of all the main sites in the city. The staff are friendly and helpful and our room as well as the hotel was clean and fresh. It has a small pool but not big enough for swimming. We had a nice lunch there.

We stayed at this hotel at the beginning and end of the trip.
The location is great for getting to know the center of San José, the hotel is very pleasant with spacious, clean and comfortable rooms.
Breakfast is simple but quite good.

Unfortunately we started to hear the noise of traffic quite early.

Buenos dias!
