We stayed there for 1 night right before we departed, the host is really friendly and welcoming. though the design of hotel is more like a boutique garden hotel, feels totally out of San Jose once you step in it. We stayed on the second floor on the opposite side, we had the whole floor to us, the room and... More

My partner and I traveled up and down the central west coast of Costa Rica in December 2009. We stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of our trip. This B&B was definitely the highlight of our trip accommodations wise. Everything was spotless and comfortable. The breakfast with the homemade preserves was lovely, and Kurt was extremely helpful. We... More

This little hotel is very nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is good too. We were very impressed and wished we could have stayed longer.

If you want an incredibly warm welcome to San Jose, book with Casa 69. Owner Kurt is delightful and has a wealth of local knowledge. Don't miss breakfast in the beautifully landscaped courtyard.

We stayed here our first night in Costa Rica, and it was an excellent way to start our trip. Kurt was very friendly and helpful, and the taxi driver he sent to pick us up at the airport was a very sweet guy who made us feel very welcome and comfortable. The hotel is on a quiet street but is... More

Stayed at Casa 69 one night, upon arriving and upon departing Costa Rica. Room rate was reasonable..the rooms were ok, not luxurious but well kept, the place on the outside has an urban oasis, kinda feel, the breakfast of fruit, bread and coffee was perfect....the staff was so helpful and friendly, and the house dog Tina is the best! Biggest complaint... More

This is our second time to spend a few weeks in CR and Bananna Azul recommended excellent value for the dollar staying at Casa 69. Were we in for a treat! We wanted to be in a central location so we could explore the city, be 20 minutes from the Airport, and not spend huge bucks. Last time we were... More

The reviews here seem way too excited about this place. We thought it was a standard no-frills bed & breakfast. The premises are surrounded by high walls with locked gates and layers of barbed wire. Not too homey-feeling, but I guess that's the way it is in San Jose. We arrived late at night. The guy who checked us in... More

We stayed at Casa 69 for a few days at the end of our trip in March. We are a married couple traveling with our 6 month old baby. Stepping inside Casa 69 from the street is like entering a sheltered oasis from the noise outside. The owners and staff are all very helpful, both in providing information to smooth... More

We stayed at Casa 69 on the last night of our honeymoon. We wanted to spend our last night exploring San Jose, but we got in a bit late and left early the next day--wish we'd been able to see more. Kurt was a tremendous host, with such a wealth of knowledge about the city. He recommended a few restaurants... More
