This B&B was just what we needed. The room we occupied was clean, quiet, well furnished. The bathroom was clean and had the usual features. The house was located away from the continuous traffic but close enough you could find a good restaurant nearby. Breakfast was top notch.

Stopped here on out last night in Costa Rica. It's a beautiful home tucked away from the busy main road. The home is gorgeous- lots of artwork, rugs, charming decor, gardens. We stayed in a room on the second floor with a balcony and enjoyed looking out into their front yard. Xavier and Pilar are very gracious hosts; they helped...

This was recommended by friends as a great place to stay in San Jose. It is just a bit outside the busy city on a quiet street with lovely gardens around the house. The rooms are not large but very comfortable and the owners are the nicest people. No matter what time you approach the house they are there to...

Pilar and Xavier made my family of six feel home away from home! They serve an outstanding breakfast, we enjoyed eating morning breakfast out in the garden that is filled with various fruit trees and flowers. Their professionalism and personal touch is outstanding. We call them family and look forward to our next stay at Casa de Las Tias! Thank...

Arriving in a new city late at night can be very trying. Pilar & Xavier organized our airport pick up and smoothed our entrance to Costa Rica. The "rica" part of the country's name was amply demonstrated in the delightful house and gardens of "Las Tias". The inside is lined with all manner of exotic woods as well as local...

When Pilar told us that she wanted Casa de las Tias to be a place where people enjoyed going to relax and hang out, just like her own tias' home in Colombia, she absolutely accomplished that goal. The home itself is cozy and quaint, beautifully maintained and decorated. The surrounding gardens are lush and the landscaping gorgeous. The location is...

My sister and I, with our husbands, visited another bucket list place, Costa Rica. We stayed three nights with Xavier and Pilar Vela at their Bed and Breakfast home in Escazu, near San Jose. Our hosts were both multi-lingual, former residents of the USA, and extremely friendly and helpful in arranging a bi-lingual driver to take us around the Central...

Not only this precious little lodge has the feeling and the ambiance of visiting your family. They treat you like that as well. The grounds are beautiful and colorful, a peaceful retreat for afternoon walks, meditation, or simply to admire the exuberant flora of the tropics. The rooms are small but beautifully appointed, just like in your Auntie's home. We...
