Where else do you get to go and stay in a cabin that is directly on the beach, sitting on your front porch and seeing nothing but ocean, sand, and palm trees. The cabins were rustic but perfect. You could open the slats on the front window and feel the ocean breeze all night. The food was delicious, traditional Belizean...

Had the opportunity to spend 4 nights on Tobacco Caye and stayed at the Tobacco Caye Lodge. The trip started easily in Dangriga where we met up with Captain Fermin and had uneasy ride over to the Caye. The accommodations were excellent with a small seaside facing cabin complete with a hammock on the front porch. The stay included 3...

Getting to Tobacco Caye was a bouncy experience but it is 45 minutes to an hour out from the mainland so you must be prepared for all kinds of weather. We stayed for two days in a rustic cabin with a porch looking out over the barrier reef. Listening to the waves was wonderful. Three meals were part of the...

The price is too high for what you get. Although the staff is nice and friendly, this premise is falling apart, literally. The ceiling paint in our room was constantly falling, there are unprotected electricity cables running in the room, the bathroom deeply rusted,... (pics below) we are fine with basic accommodations but here we felt exploited. Worth to stay...

Tobacco Caye Lodge has simple, but adequate, accommodations. Cabins have private bath, and cold water only. But - you have a front porch that looks directly on the ocean, with the gentle sound of waves 24-7. Best of all, you sit directly on the reef, so snorkeling is just a few steps away. The reef abounds with fish, rays, coral,...

We only ate and drank on Tobacco Caye as we stayed on a boat so I can't comment on the rooms. What I can tell you is the people who live here are very friendly and accommodating. We drank at a little bar on the north end of the island. The owner of the bar made fantastic drinks and he...

I was hoping for an idyllic, island treat and found a scruffy, un-cared for, 50's style holiday camp. The staff were friendly and the bed was clean, but the shower head was missing, slats are missing from the windows, there is no power from 6pm to 6am and there was no guidance about snorkelling in the area. I was sent...

I've travelled enough to recognize the difference between hostels, lodges, cabanas, hotels etc. and understand that you get what you pay for. I did not get what I paid for. There is too much to write so I'll keep it point form. The bad: - double charged: credit card before the trip and cash on the island (they stated the...

After a recent trip, I would not recommend Tobacco Caye Lodge to anyone. The service is nonexistant, we had to wait to check-in, were not told any info about the facilities, meals or island. The cabins are meager (think backpacker-hostel quality) and there is substantial noise transfer from neighbours, which is fine if I was paying a cheap rate, except...
