Hard to imagine feeling at home in such a remote place with such extreme cold, while turning your sleep cycle upside-down. Eric and his employees do just that with comfort food, comfortable room and lounge and their happiness to chat or do anything to be of service. As you consider your choices on Arora viewing; consider being directly under the...

My husband and I stayed at Bettles Lodge last week and it was an incredible experience. Once we arrived at the lodge and settled into our room, the owner Eric Fox took us on a tour. He told us the history of Bettles, he showed us the other buildings and structures around town, and told us who all lived there...

There are not enough great words in the English vocabulary to describe this place and these people. I wish them a 100 years of success. It really felt like an expedition. A very good education in the artic life and very remote. Bring your severe winter gear, a great camera and an open mind. Bettles Alaska is like no other,...

Best service I've had at any location. This rustic lodge is the perfect place for a winter get-away.... we enjoyed everything the arctic had to offer! Northern lights viewing every single night, it was incredible. The staff was the best! Eric Fox gave us a wonderful tour of the town, very informative. All of the staff was great ---chef Kevin,...

Great location to get away from it all and experience true Alaska in Winter. All staff were welcoming, helpful and genuinely interested in seeing you have a great time. Lovely food and plenty of it! Comfy room, plenty of space, clean functional. Nice to have the DVDs to watch about Alaska and it's beauty and history. Was fun to try...

If you want to see the northern lights, this is the place! Clear skies, great staff! Katz helps with photos and we got the first and last photos perfect. We had the best time ever, off the grid, no city noise or lights, beautiful mountains. My wife loved dog sledding, I liked to site see by snow machine. Meals were...

Eric Fox, and his staff, were WONDERFUL. They supplied us with great food, constant cookies, extra warm clothes and a wake up call at night when the Northern Lights came up. The Lodge was warm, comfy, inviting and had plenty of aurora and Alaska history books and videos to keep us entertained during the time between Lights viewing. And the...

Rustic Bettles Lodge is all you need to see the lights and go dog sledding. Proprietors have made this lodge warm, comfortable and friendly. They provide a town tour, arctic over gear for loan (it was -45 while we were there) and staff to stay up to let you know when the Aurora is viewable. Food is plentiful and good,...

Hi Jen & Mac You two were great adventurers! You braved some of the coldest temps that I have experienced with smiles. Come back to pan gold with me on the Koyukuk this Summer! Eric :)

My team stayed at Bettles Lodge for a week with our helicopter in June with Summer Solstice right in the middle. Heather and Eric were great hosts for our field team, they had us in clean and tidy rooms with a great common area and excellent food. The staff was friendly and helpful and particularly accommodating of our crazy schedule....

There is something truly magical about Bettles Lodge. The location in the interior of Alaska is the perfect spot to view the Aurora Borealis (or the Northern Lights) but it is so much more than that. From the beautiful hiking and snow shoe trails to the warm hospitality of the Lodge owners, Heather and Eric, it is one of my...
