We were on a flight to Anaktuvuk Pass, Alaska from Fairbanks. Eric Fox, the owner, sat behind us telling us amazing information of everything we were looking down at. We thought he worked for the sm plane. We he told us so much. Then we...More

This was one of the best trips! Everyone at the lodge were attentive to our every want and need. Eric, Heather, and all employees are great people! Loved the flights and Kevin is an amazing pilot. Can't wait to go back!

Thank you Mary Anne! You two were great! Give us a call when you want to come back to see the Aurora!
We went to Bettles with friends and had one of the best experiences ever. We took the train from Anchorage to Fairbanks which was incredibly scenic - saw Mt. Denali very clearly as well as other beautiful mountains and amazing animals. Flew on Warbelows to...More
My husband and I travel quite a bit, have been to beautiful Mediterranean areas, Germany, Jamaica, etc etc. Our 4 day vacation at the Bettles beats all of them. The natural beauty of the place is unreal and the lodge is peaceful and rustic-comfortable. Eric,...More

HI Zoidberg69, If you could tell me where (and when) you've heard this, I will be happy to contact your source directly and set them straight. My Wife Heather and I took over about 3 1/2 years ago and have happily accepted all races and religions into our home (Bettles Lodge). I'm very disappointed that you've heard a absolutely untrue rumor such as this. Please remember to check the dates on the reviews you read. Heather and I have owned the Lodge since July 1st 2014. You may call me at the Lodge, 7 days a week to discuss any questions or issues you might have with me directly, if you like. We hope to see you in our Arctic paradise soon! Warm Regards from the Arctic! Eric L Fox

We were at Bettles Lodge in December--we went specifically to see the Northern Lights. It was cold (-20 to -30 degrees) and snowy. Eric and Heather are awesome. Eric gave us a tour of Bettles--took about an hour and it was very interesting. We hiked around the frozen area. We went to the Gates of the Arctic Visitor Center--right across from Bettles Lodge. That was VERY interesting. I would suggest later if you want to see the Northern Lights. Our main purpose of being there in December was to see the Northern Lights. So, because we were up for most of the night, we took it easy in the day. There is no guarantee, but the darker the better. Bettles is a small town--about 13 people live there. You are out in the "bush". Check on any side trips you are thinking about from Bettles--make sure they are still doing the trips in September. Bettles is a fly in town--that is the only way you can get in and out. Chat with Eric he will guide you in the right direction.

We stayed in the Aurora Lodge (on the property of Bettles lodge and part of the same complex) and in our room there was a jacuzzi, soap, plenty pf towels, robes, slippers, shampoo, cream rinse, hairdryer. The Aurora Lodge has its own living room complete with TV and videos to watch, coffee, puzzles and games. Its a short walk to Bettles Lodge where meals and cocktails are served. We really enjoyed our stay.
