Our family spent Christmas here. The historic lodge is so homey and warm! We enjoyed super yummy meals and the cozy cabin. We ice skated on the creek and skied on the freshly groomed trails and afterwards enjoyed a hot toddy by the river rock fireplace. It was the best Christmas ever! Mabel and Russ are such gracious hosts, we...

After many times passing this place and wanting to try out the restaurant, this year we finally did. I got the tuna melt sandwich...melted in my mouth! It was amazing! The price of the food was incredible and almost unbelievable at how affordable it was, especially with the amount of food they give you. The lady was super nice and...

I didn't stay here so I can't comment on the accommodation - we stopped here during a long drive and we were so pleased we did. We were given a warm welcome, a freshly made hot chocolate and a delicious lunch. The lovely lady made me a wonderful vegetarian salad with potatoes, asparagus and fresh fruit and salad from the...

My first trip to Alaska. This is not your usual type of place. Very rustic with fireplace, animal skins and trophies. While this may not be for some, it is an authentic representation of the Alaska experience. The cabins are simple and sweet with quilts, chairs and heated. The restrooms are at another building with showers or in the lodge...

I have never in my life seen such a rude lady. You never know what mode she'll be in. One minute she's super nice the next she's flying off the handle. We made reservations with the husband of the property no problem. We arrive late in the evening of the 12th to no reservation. I'd look around before I stay...

Tom O, As you recall you were thrown out of the lodge after your family broke rules. Your family were drunk and disorderly. Our other guests had to leave after your dog peed on them. dogs are not allowed in the lodge, nor are they allowed to roam free pooping everywhere. i do not when to list the other offences,...

Great place to stay, especially because of the owners. Very relaxed and friendly. I've lived in Alaska for 34 years and have gone by the place a thousand times. The cabin has two beds and one chair. No TV and no bath, outdoor plumbing only. The bedding was awesome. If you want a true Alaska experience, this is it. The...

A must stop on the road. The place is extremely charming. True Alaska place. We stopped for a second and ended up spending a good hour chatting with the owner and having a beer with great salmon. The owner came out and provide great customer service while we had few beers. We did not stay here since we did not...

We went to stay at the property during the busy July 4th holiday. We arrived late around 10pm or so and the bar was closed up. The owner was very nice and advised that we would be staying in the guest cabin near the main road. There were two nice beds inside with power, but the door does not close,...

A friend and I stayed overnight at the Mendeltna Creek Lodge in mid-January, 2015. We shared one of the rustic but very comfortable cabins, and the next morning we enjoyed breakfast with friends who also stayed there. We were delighted by the truly old-time Alaskan feel of this beautiful and historic lodge, and enjoyed getting to know the owner and...

This is one of the few places that you will get it....I have passed by this place for a long time, never stopped, but was going to a dog sled race in Glennallen and this was the only place that still had a cabin....It is about 30 miles west of Glennallen right on the Glenn Highway. I was amazed....This was...

“I saw 2/3 cabins in the front...both basically decorated in the same fashion...I might add that this is about 6 miles from the Lake Louise Rd which is a huge Lake that has huge fish. In the winter they have groomed ski trails, dog mushing trails as well as snow machine trails...Excellent recreational area....They also have RV camping sites.”
