My friend and I stayed two nights at the very end of September, sharing a room with a spectacular view out over the old parade ground and the water. The building itself has character - it is not a Holiday Inn Express, it is an old military house that has been made very comfortable, topped off by an outstandingly friendly...

I came in from salmon fishing and this was a great spot. After spending months on a boat, getting to use a full kitchen to make dinner was a treat. Spent hours sitting on the porch with other guests. Hot shower, plenty of coffee, and good company. Will be back.

We stayed in Haines after taking the Alaska ferry north. We'd seen Fort Seward on our last trip through Haines and wanted to spend a couple of nights here to get to know the area better. Fine choice! House Number 1 is a hundred-plus year old Army officer's residence, dating back to the Klondike Gold Rush and then sold by...

Sara was timely in picking us up from the Ferry Terminal, allowed us to choose between a couple of open rooms, and gave us some gracious tips for enjoying the area. She was a flexible and accommodating host! Breakfast is mostly on your own in a shared kitchen, but Sara provides the groceries, and will happily fix you up something...

We had booked room 4A on the second floor (one floor up from ground level and with a private bathroom) for three nights. Sara picked us up from the Alaska ferry, gave us a tour of town on the way to the accommodation, and made us very welcome. The tour included locations of eating, drinking and coffee places with recommendations....

Great location. Spectacular views. Sara knocked herself out making us welcome. We particularly appreciated her shuttling us to/from the ferry terminal, loaning bicycles with which to explore the area, and making great restaurant recommendations. Very healthy breakfasts. If we went to Haines again, would certainly book here. New owners are doing some work on the property. Chimneys were under reconstruction...

Sara did a wonderful job making us feel at home and comfortable. The lodging is second to none and the town of Haines was a delight with food and museums such a highlight. The history of the house and grounds is exciting. This is a highly recommended spot for any Alaska bond travelers.

This bed and breakfast is in lovely historic neighborhood in Haines. Sara, the new owner, is warm and friendly and does her best to make guests feel right at home. The view of the Lynn Canal from the front porch is magnificent. Check out this charming Bed and Breakfast when visiting Haones, AK.

We only spent one night here but should have stayed longer. This B&B is in as the name suggests in the old army Fort Seward area. This B&B was actually one of the original senior Officers quarters. Norm and his wife have restored the house and made it a great place to stay. Our room overlooked the old parade ground...
