Maria is the most accommodating host I’ve ever met. She is warm, caring and super friendly. Her breakfasts are out of this world! This was a fantastic place to stay. We saw moose in the yard and our daughter delighted in playing with the dogs. Maria even provided her with art projects to keep her busy. You won’t find a better place. On top of that, the view is breathtaking!
We could not have found a more accommodating, friendly and comfortable place to stay in Homer. Maria and Tim were extremely kind and our daughter even got to play fetch with the dogs! She wants to go back just to play with the dogs again. The view is second to none, the breakfast and the homemade syrups were delicious as much as it was filling and the room was cozy and supplied with a microwave and stove which allowed us to make our own dinner. Great stay!
We really enjoyed our stay. Maria is a caring and friendly person and provides a Comfortable home like atmosphere. Our room was nice and the view is AWESOME!! It’s great at night to see the lights of homer and spit. Would definitely stay again.
If I could give Maria a 10 star rating, I would! If you are looking for a place to stay in Homer, look no further!! Maria goes out of her way to make sure everything is perfect! OMG the breakfasts are amazing!!! I can’t wait to get home and cook Maria’s “Alaskan Pancake”. She sells a cookbook with her recipes and I just had to have one, not just for the recipes, but to have for a memory! Thank you so much Maria and we will see you next time!! (The picture I posted is the view from our balcony in Cabin B)
My wife and I stayed at Majestic View for three nights in the Salmon Cabin and very much enjoyed our stay. Maria and Tim are very hospitable hosts. The cabin was large, clean, comfortable, private, and quiet. The view of the bay and mountains from the cabin deck was breathtaking. Maria is a marvelous cook and served us absolutely delicious breakfasts each morning. She makes all her own baked goods, served quality breakfast meats, eggs, pancakes, cereal, coffee, tea, and preserves. The food is served family style with ample portions. Maria enjoys cooking and it shows. The B&B is a short scenic drive from Homer and the Spit. We had a fun time walking the Spit and mostly window shopping. We also took the 25 mile drive out East End Road to the head of Kachemak Bay. It is a beautiful drive with views of the bay, mountains, and glaciers. I also recommend the short drive North on the Sterling Hwy to the Norman Lowell Art Gallery to view Mr. Lowell’s Alaskan artwork. The admission is free and the artwork is outstanding. There are also two Russian Orthodox churches not far from the art gallery that are worth seeing; one is Transfiguration of Our Lord Chapel in Ninilchik, AK and the other is the Church of St. Nicholas, Old Believers Village, Nikolaesvk, AK. This Old Believers village is just East of Anchor Point, AK about 5 miles off the Sterling Hwy. The dining in Homer is somewhat expensive. We had seafood at Captain Pattie’s on the Spit and paid $111 for non-alcoholic drinks, clam chowder, and the seafood sampler. There was ample food and it was tasty, but still the most expensive we paid on our Alaskan trip. If you enjoy fishing or want to go out sightseeing by boat, Tim is a licensed captain with his own 20’ boat and hires out for sightseeing tours and sport fishing on Kachemak Bay. We highly recommend Majestic View B&B for accommodations in the Homer area. The view is phenomenal, the breakfasts are delicious and Tim and Maria are warm and welcoming. The Enrights 8/2020 …
