Situated on the bay at an old salmon cannery converted to a rendering plant and now converted to a resort the rustic setting and accommodation as well as the isolated location gives one a feel for wild Alaska. As with most remote locations the primary draw is the fishing but we enjoyed ourselves watching wildlife from a boat bay tour...

Great hospitality, location, and true Alaskan adventure. Zachar Bay Lodge has character and we enjoyed hiking up the Zachar river, seeing bears and fishing. This ex-cannery is a special location as part of the Kodiak Islands heritage. Andy, Lynn ard their team are great and attentive hosts.

Thank you for writing a review and including what you enjoyed about Zachar Bay Lodge. It was good that you and your family were able to participate in the various activities offered, even to picking raspberries and doing a jigsaw puzzle , plus hiking, fishing, and seeing Kodiak bears. This is a family owned and run lodge in the the middle of pristine Kodiak Island in AK! Our family has made numerous trips to Zacher Bay and the Eaton Family has become like family. They have gone above and beyond to make our hunting trips memorable and have catered to our needs with little ones in tow!
