Tiny rustic cabins perched on the hillside above the tree line in a gorgeous mountain pass. What more could you ask for? The whole place is very informal. It took us several calls to make a reservation because no one had "the book" when we called. We finally reserved a cabin for one night, and the place was so perfect...

Our family of five spent one night at Hatcher Pass. Really cute cabins. Almost like nice camping w/ electricity, a sink and a chemical toilet which is better than no toilet. Restaurant was perfectly fine, pretty much one gentleman was our cook and our waiter, we were only ones in the place. Not cheap, but you feel very remote so...

My husband and I stopped here for a late lunch. We left feeling hungry and kind of ripped off. We both had a turkey sandwich. Turkey, tomato, cheese, mayo on bread with a little scoop of potato salad. $17.75 each! That's outrageous, even for Alaska. Our server disappeared without bringing our drinks or napkins, so we helped ourselves. Which is...

After spending an unforgettable day hiking the mountains we decided to warm up in the lodge and have lunch. The lodge is picture perfect and adorable, but they know they are the only place to serve food for miles around and the prices reflect it. $9 for a pb&j ? no way. Instead, order the fondue at least you get...

We have been going here for years- our favorite time is in the fall. The drive is stunning and the simplicity- no TV, wifi -and spotty cell- is just what lovers and writers appreciate. Teens may complain-- but get them out hiking! The stream is lovely music all night long and the misty clouds provide an envelope of stillness. The...

Only a short drive up (and up) a paved road, you come to Hatcher Pass Lodge. Built in 1982, the lodge has a certain quality that reminds you of days gone by. When we arrived they had a roaring fire going and greeted us immediately. We were made to feel right at home. Due to the prices, we did not...

I have stayed here serval times, I LOVE IT.. If you want a stream beside your cabin, a ghost town, huge mountains, a rustic lodge restaurant with pot belly stove, and a place dogs are welcome, this is the place, It is the REAL ALASKAN EXPERIENCE. It is clean, quite, fun, remote, and you can hike, ski, explore, drink wine,...

You won't find another place with a view out your cabin window like this. Other viewers well document this location and what it looks like. It's too bad that the entire facility shows marginal maintenance and is in poor repair. My wife with the good nose felt the cabin "bathroom" area with the chemical toilet wasn't particularly clean, and everything...

Excellent stop for coffee and desert, nice atmosphere and view, coffee and food good and service excellent. Conveniently located and adequate parking, no waiting in line. Cozy fireplace running if it happens to be cool out.

We knew what we signed up for so was had an amazing time. No running water in the cabins, no TV's, no shower. It was amazing!!! We only stayed one night but that was enough time to take in the views and check out the Independence Mine. The place is simply spectacular. Great pit stop along our 13 day trip.
