We stayed at this lodge one night, and enjoyed the tranquility very much. We had a lovely "mountain" breakfast served to us, and ate it on our porch on a peaceful morning. WiFi is spotty, and cable is not yet available, but the atmosphere is quintessential Alaska. The family who owns the lodge is delightful.

This was a wonderful stop, a hidden gem with a lodge feel and friendly folks to welcome and help. The cabins were very nice with small porch for viewing. The accommodations are Alaska but very clean, comfortable, and down right pleasant. I would stay again but more than one night. Probably need reservations since they only have about 20 cabins.

We stayed three nights to explore the area north of Anchorage. The cabins were nice with great views of the river and mountains though not very widely spaced. The bed was comfortable with lots of pillows (9!) and there was plenty of hot water for showers. We brought our own bowls and spoons so with a quick stop at the...

I happened upon this place by chance and I couldn't feel luckier to have discovered it. It really feels that way...like a discovery. Situated 11 miles off the main road, The Knik River Lodge feels like it's on another planet. And I mean that in the best possible way. As my friend and I were pulling up I kept excitedly...

We stayed at the lodge just one night, and we wished we had had more time. We spent the afternoon at the Matanuska Glacier and instead of going back to Anchorage, we decided to spend the night in Palmer. There are not too many hotels there, however!!! We found the lodge, and we loved it. It is definitely remote, a...

We had groupon here with heli ride, the room was very nice, clean and new, I love their little balcony with dinning table outside! Great towels, bed and bedding, all very nice. The only thing is the on site dinning, it was very busy with only one waiter. He didn't want us to sit outside and also told us the...

While the cabin was nice and the staff friendly and helpful, I found the following to be very lacking: 1. No advance notice of no wifi or cable. 2. Breakfast is only a small continental tray brought to your cabin. No selection is available. 3. On arrival, I was arbitrarily told that my 11:30 dog sled trip was moved to...

We only stayed one night in Knik River Lodge, at the end of the road near Palmer. Nice cabins, could use a little landscaping instead of just gravel. 21 little cabins altogether. Pretty view of the mountains across the river. Nice inside, with fridge, microwave and Keurig coffee maker. Dinner in the yurt was very good, but they had only...

Although it is 'off the grid' Knik River Lodge has all the luxuries of modern convenience (except wifi and cable, but enjoy the view instead). We had a wonderful and filling dinner at the yurt (make reservations) which included king salmon, breaded pork, French onion soup, balsamic bacon salad, and dessert of creme brûlée or chocolate mousse with berries. We...

Our cabin was very clean, comfortable and nice, smelled like Pine. There was a TV in the room and you could borrow DVDs from the main office. While we stayed there 2 nights we only ate on property the first night. The food was VERY good but pricey and they did run out of things towards closing.

Thank Jessica V
