Denali Highway Cabins are located in Paxson, a tiny settlement at the west end of Denali Highway. The location is excellent if you are starting or ending a trip on Denali Highway, a beautiful 130-miles drive with amazing views on the Alaska Range. DHC is also a very nice place to just stay, relax, and enjoy the silence. It is...

On a 24-day tour of Alaska, Paxson will not feature high on the list of places. It was however a necessary stop to break the long drive from Fairbanks to McCarthy. And the price ($150 in 2010) when many of the accommodations chosen bore a $60-$110 tag, looked a bit steep for a forced break in a wasteland. As it...

Our cabin was little and adorable. It was immaculately clean and it was a welcome respite after the long Denali Highway drive from Cantwell. It was definitely the very best lodging around for miles and miles and miles. I would stay here again. It would be even better if they put in a restaurant./cafe because the area doesn't have a...

On our recent 2 week trip to Alaska, we had the pleasure of spending two nights here. Audie and Jenny take great pride in hosting such a unique place.. Our cabin was exceptional --comfortable beds, clean and adequate space for the two of us. The commons room is a great idea for meeting new friends, reading ,music, games, the internet...

We stayed in their guest house: 2+1 bedrooms, nice kitchen, living area. One bath in the same room with the washer & dryer. comfortable, although some of the furniture was slightly overused. The kitchen was well equiped with utensils, albeit minimal condiments. quiet, peaceful setting. funky? chickens that have become pets, a couple nice dogs, seemingly unfinished projects scattered around,...

The cabins were a delightful surprise, and the best beds on our three week trip. I think we were in a standard cabin, which appeared to be newer. The cabin was on the smaller side, which is fine with us, but if we'd have stayed longer, it'd been tough without a kitchen, though I think they were finishing up the...

Road trip with my wife and two adult children. Nothing fancy, but we weren't looking for fancy. Wonderful owners, cabins near the river. Would like to come back and visit during the winter or early spring. Located at the intersection of the Richardson and Denali Highways.

After driving the awsome (although rough) Denali Highway from Cantwell for about 6 hours (many stops for photo ops on the way) we expected that night's accommodation (Sept 12th), at the Denali Highway Cabins, to be just as rough. As it turned out the newly built (it seemed so to my wife and I) Cabin (# 3) asigned to us,...

When my husband and I pulled in the driveway to the cabins, my husband exclaimed, "This is the place!" Meaning: all over Alaska you see lodging establishments claiming they are the "real" Alaska, but the most we'd encountered were some nice cabins and b&bs, but nothing that seemed to really encapsulate the remote Alaskan lifestyle. When we pulled in the...

We stayed at the Denali Highways cabins for a night during a fantastic trip to Alaska. I was interested in sleeping somewhere midway between Fairbanks and Wrangell-ST Elias NP, and I decided to stay there because of the prior reviews and the information provided by Lonely Planet. Probably, the property is not designed for a one night stay, and we...
