This year was our second visit to Philips small and friendly hotel on nellikunnu beach. It didnt disappoint. This really is a one off. Philips natural warm hospitality and friendly helpful advice and service skill make it a unique experience. His small staff of Ambi and Raj the Nepalese chef round off the front of house. Everything is on a...

We've just returned from 12 days at Kadaltheeram, the main part of our first trip to India. We stayed there in the second half of January. Philip and Ambi, the owners, provide the personal, relaxed, welcoming, non-formulaic service you don't often find these days. Spent our days relaxing under the coconut palms, enjoying Raj's great food in the restaurant, swimming...

Spent a lovely week here last year at Easter. Booking and communication was easy, Phil was pleasure to deal with before and during our stay. He organised Ambi to collect us from the airport in his beautiful old Ambassador car. We took a Kerala house, no A/C but the fan and breeze sufficient. It did get a little warm during...

We have just returned from a 2 week stay at this guest house and enjoyed every minute. The initial sight was a shock as Kadaltheeram is reached down a very bad road with enormous pot holes and then you have to walk along a very narrow alley. Then you reach Kadaltheeram and you're in for a wonderful surprise. We had...

No one replies to the Indian numbers on their website. The U K number asks to leave a message and the U K mobile number quotes an Indian mobile...

We didn't stay here as we had hired a Beach House further down the beach. We did however eat here 4 times during our 2 night stay on the beach! The food was really great & Philip the owner was very helpful. They also allowed us to do 'take away' at lunchtime on a large tray and we just bought...

Rather late writing this review. Stayed here in January 2012 for 1 week, as part of a month holiday traveling in Kerala and tamil nadu. Stayed in the Keralan beach house. Our room was lovely. We could hear and see the see from our room. We ate all our meals here, the chef raj is a genius, the prawns were...

Only 25 minutes away from the main train station and international airport. We made our way down a small narrow road going through the village full of smiles and friendly people. We stayed in one side of Kerala House, a traditional Indian building with a palm roof. Inside was spotless and very well kept with a fridge and tea making...

We stayed next door to Kadaltheeram Beach Resort, but felt like we were staying there as Phil looked after us so very well! The food, cooked by Raj, was delicious and the views, the sound of the water, and the great company made our time perfect. A perfect retreat from Delhi life and bustle. Thank you Phil for being so...

During our January 2013 stay close to the Kadaltheeram Beach Resort, on the beautiful and unspoiled Nellikunnu beach, we quickly discovered this delightful beachside Resort and Restaurant. The food is excellent and reasonably priced, and for most of our stay we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner there as we found it to be the best and most enjoyable restaurant in...

“Main building is less basic than the two traditional thatched Keralan cottages nearer the beach . Ground floor accommodation of main building does not have air con but was kept suitably 'cool' by overhead fans. Loads of space including 2 bathrooms and kitchen. You would not really want to cook your own food due to excellent food by Raj.Temperatures end of Jan/start of Feb were in low 30s.”
