Nice Thai style hotel in the centre of town close to night food street. They apologised as they only had a single room left. What I got was a large room tiled floor (cooler) 2 windows with a view of the park, fridge, double bed,TV (Thai only) ensuite (shower hot but water pressure limited. The place was clean and reasonably maintained staff were present and spoke more English than my Thai,ie not a lot, all this and a small gecko as a room mate. I paid B399.Lots of food place nearby, I recommend a Thai place exit hotel turn left, left at roundabout and it is a few metres down on the right

What a nice tidy little city Loei is, just right. We're here at the King Hotel for 2 nights... standard room, king bed, A/C, fluffy duvet, fridge, VERY nice, sat TV (CNN, BBC, etc) free WiFi in room (great connection), elevator, granite everywhere... 500Bt/nite... no breakfast. Who needs the Loei Palace... this is right in town. Top drawer! Best we've had to date.

My second visit to this hotel and as good as the first. Perfect position, big rooms, good cable and wifi, clean and a good enough breakfast all for 650 baht and in a really cool town. Loei is a less visited town but has a lot to offer, back to basics Thailand and refreshing. Good step off point to visit Loas which I was doing.

Loei Province and town have a lot of character, as does the King Hotel. Huge rooms, timber features, great king-size bed, good air-con, adequate bathroom. B650 per night (no breakfast). Ideal location just west of the night eating street, really good food there. Cable TV has no English channels now.

Loei people have really got their town looking good. No litter, as is common elsewhere. Really laid back feel. Many wide, even-surfaced footpaths. Interesting building streetscapes reveal a rich French/Laotion influence. King Hotel close to maintained green spaces...Kut Pong Public Park and Queen Sirikit garden, which are easily accessed by foot-bridges....the orange suspension footbridge has an interesting rythym! Not abundant, but adequate diversity of street food/coffee shops/restaurants about.

Of course the town is a base for Phu Rua NP and other natural-based attractions to the west...Avoiding Phu Rua during any Thai Holiday period would be wise.

Fantastic landscapes and topography throughout Loei......we'll be back!

I have stayed twice at the King Hotel and there will certainly be a third time, well 4th 5th 6th etc etc. The staff are so nice and the breakfast I ordered was cooked for me, no buffet style and it was cooked to perfection.
The room and bathroom were perfect. I had a hot water jug with complimentary sachets of coffee, tea, sugar and milk.
About five minutes after leaving I received a phone call, I had left a mobile phone charger in my room, I had left it near the bed side, hard to see until the bed was changed. I can thoroughly recommend the "King Hotel" and their staff...

Centrally located near the first (and only?) round-about in the city and within walking distance of many eateries where you'll find thai and Issan food.As you exit the hotel on your right about 200m you'll find a closed off street with food stalls. Be aware that this is a provincial city and that shops close early.
I took a double bed room, the bedding is really soft and that is priceless! On the whole it was good value for money, big room, kettle, instant coffee, tea provided as well as complimentary bottles of water.
Wifi doesn't always work though...
There is a lift and a concierge.
The hotel is quiet although in the city center, the traffic is not dense and the cars drive slowly.
Should you need to go to the bus station, it costs 40 baht and is a few minutes away. The airport is about 10mn away.
I recommend this hotel.

I stayed here in December 2014. This hotel is located in the centre of Loei town. It is a great base if you are visiting Loei and the surrounding area. The hotel is clean and very good value for money. I had a rate of 600 baht a night including breakfast. The choice for free breakfast was very limited but they had an excellent rice soup. There are many small Thai restaurants and street vendors in the area however and all provided excellent cheap Thai food.

King is excellent for the money. Good location, convenient pleasant coffee shop. Only the new elevator is annoying. We don't need a robotic voice to tell us every time that the 'door is closing' and 'going up'. We can figure that out all by ourselves. and why insult Thailand by 'speaking' in English? Unplug that robot!! Loei is so off the tourist track, it's a true Thai experience and I'd definitely stay at the King again.

Although the front looks like a small shop-house hotel there is a 4-floor building behind with a small open-air garden. The rooms seems to be recently renovated and although they are simple they are clean and have air-con, tv, private bathroom with shower and fridge. There is also good and free Wifi in the all hotel. Behind the hotel is free parking. Of course there is no swimming pool.

Next to the entrance is a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and diner.
For 500 Thai baht a good hotel in the city of Loei.

Spent a few days there very recently and was more than happy. Looks small but quite spacious interior and the car park is big!
Hotel staff are very nice, friendly and helpful. I was in the largest type of room which was very comfortable. Lovely pillows.
Only issue and nothing to do with the hotel is that opening and closing times of bars, cafes etc. aren't always convenient and often not as they themselves advertise.Loei is basically rural and that needs to be remembered.
