We enjoyed our 2 night stay at Topas Ecolodge in September. We arrived by train from Hanoi and got picked up at the station and taken to the lodge. The night train arrived 2 hrs late at ~7.30am and the drive to the lodge is just under 2 hrs. Fortunately we were able to check in early. The lodge is...

Everything was great. The location was serene and scenic and the good was nice. The ecolodge is relaxing, and very nice organic foods in the lovely restaurant from breakfast to dinner. Regardless, I would recommend Topas Eco lodge.

I have to say the first thing to say about this beautiful place is the absolutely amazing views that make it worth every cent. They are truly spectacular and any constructive comments I have to say are outweighed by the fact that the spectacular green rice terraces which surround the accommodation will momentarily take your breath away. Other pros about...

The breathtaking view and beautiful nature makes a stay at Topas Ecolodge an unforgettable experience! The rooms and common-area were delicately furnished and impeccably clean. The hotel offered free shuttle bus transport to Sapa and a variety of exiting outdoor activities. The staff were friendly and helpful.

It is our last night at the lodge and we have enjoyed the serenity enormously and are grateful to the Danish for their investment and dedication to creating an incredibly beautiful lodge which only enhances the area. It sits beautifully on the hill side, surrounded my mountain wild flowers and bamboo. We have been impressed by Eric's knowlege of the...

Thank you for writing to TripAdvisor I am so pleased to hear your comments about the experience you have had here at Topas Ecolodge. We are located in the remote area of North Vietnam and surrounded by an unspoiled nature. Active rice fields all around the lodge and numerous trekking and cycling opportunity, are available. Hopefully you will make it...

I must admit after the long train journey from Hanoi and the drive from the station we were exhausted by the time we reached the Lodge. However, the trip was worth what awaited us. An excellent, well run and efficiently managed resort with friendly staff, set in an amazing location. Hiking and biking trips were available, but one never felt...

Good place in normal day while no one around you. Very nice restaurant with very good food! But it is just enough for 1 or 2 days stay. If more stay, it can be bored. If you'd like to go Silver waterfall, Ham Rong Mountain, or other place, a hotel at Sapa center will be more convenient. Resort has a...

Thank you for writing to TripAdvisor In general our guests stay for 2 nights at Topas Ecolodge. Considering the amount of time used to get to and from the lodge, this will make the stay here more rewarding. Depending on physical ability, it is possible to do all kinds of trekking and mountain biking. Everything can be arranged in advance...

A fabulous experience we had staying at this resort with my 2 children, aged 13 and 10 at the time. (Oct 2011-bit of a late review but think of it often as one of those very special places) We embraced the culture, trekking and life of the locals in the villages surrounding. Photographically...AWESOME! Loved the scenery, people, and the Lodge...

Thank you for writing to TripAdvisor I can not say that I can take the credit for your stay, as I only arrived at the lodge as manager here this january. But as always it is nice to hear that you thoroughly enjoyed your stay. Something tells med that this place gave you an extra ordinary experience, as you now...

This place is unique. Set up as a joint venture between a visionary Danish couple and the local government, it consists of a series of rustic, straw roofed buildings ranged round the crown of a remote hillside close to Vietnam's highest mountains. Accommodation is in a series of white-painted, stone built bungalows each with its own balcony overlooking a stunning...

Thank you for writing to TripAdvisor A short note about the ownership of Topas Ecolodge. In 2003 when the lodge was built it was done in a partnership between the danish company Topas and a local family in Sapa. Last year the ownership fell totally on danish hands. We still work close with the family, as they arrange a great...
