This is a pretty old joint about 2-3 minutes walk from the town centre. Rooms are quite small with basic décor and facilities. I would say it is fine for 1 or 2 nights sleep but if you are staying longer or get a couple of rainy days and get stuck indoors it might wear a bit thin after a...

We were met by a very friendly lady at reception when we checked in, I can't find fault with the service as they picked us up from the train station and dropped us off and were overall, very friendly. The motel itself though, is in dire need of some maintenance. There was no remote for the tv, no tea towel...

This place provides more than what is expected out of a 'motel'. Definitely a good place to stay for a family if you are in Ohakune, and especially if you are a foreigner struggling to figure out how to get to Tongariro National Park from Wellington. And yes, you can really get the view of Mount Ruapehu from the motel....

We stayed for 2 nights and it was great! Staff were helpful, parking and wifi were free (100MB per day), and the room was comfortable. The motel is just off the main road through the town and very close to the i-site visitor information centre. And yes we did have a mountain view (just!). The heating was good - just...

Excellent service from front office staff. Centralised heating, with basic kitchen facilities. Just some minor things that needs upgrading, the lounge suite was very uncomfortable and gave me back sore and the television is too high that we actually end up having sore neck after watching the tv.

We had a one bedroomed "apartment". The bedroom was huge and the living area not very big but everything you needed was there, including a basic kitchen. Excellent heating. We actually had to turn down the thermostat on our last few days because we were too warm. We had no issues with our shower, other than it seemed to take...

We stayed at Mountain View Motel, Ohakune during our boarding trip to Turoa in September. It is just within minutes walk of the Ohakune town centre where restaurants and supermarket are located and is very convenient. We arrived at the motel much earlier than the official check-in time but the receptionist was extremely helpful and found us a room to...

Arrived late on a Friday evening and room was pre-warmed. Much appreciated after a long trip from Auckland. Rooms were basic but comfortable. Reception were very helpful and informative. Met our needs perfectly. Only issue was that the power in the shower was a bit on the weak side but not a major problem considering that is standard around NZ.

Family weekend to the snow and it was great! The Motel was basic but it was comfortable, warm, affordable and had everything we needed. Check in and check out was hassle free. Location was central to everything. No complaints at al about this motel.

Motel is located in town next to Police Station so is very central. 1 bdrm self-contained unit was only $75 for the night. The receptionist was friendly and helpful but was dressed for the garden rather than the front office. Bdrm furniture was dated but was bed comfy. Good stove, fridge and microwave if required. Tea and coffes supplies fine....
