We had booked out 2 rooms at this lodge as part of a weekend roadtrip with my family which included 4 adults and 2 children The pictures do not do justice to the lodge honestly When i arrived the owner was really welcoming He had warmed up our rooms for us and had a weather report ready for the next...

A good value for money place to stay with a comfy bed bed, beautiful view, everything you need and a really excellent wet area shower room. Stayed here the night before doing one of the canoe trips so it was easy to be ready in the morning. Staff were very helpful.

Think very carefully about using your credit card here. I booked online via booking.com around 10 months ago. The owner told me there was a 'glitch' in their system an there in fact were no rooms available. After a lot of time searching around during peak ski season we managed to find alternative accommodation which was considerably more expensive. 10...

We stayed here the night before our canoe trip down the Wanganui. I was really pleasantly surprised at the standard of accommodation. It's fresh, immaculate and well equipped within easy walking distance of all the amenities in Ohakune. The staff are really relaxed and friendly. Why was it unexpected? Because it's such great value. Even if you aren't doing the...

We had a clean, modern room with a double bed and a single bed in it. It was fully equipped and obviously a convenient location to stay before heading off on a canoe safari the next day. Good location, only a couple of minute walk to the ohakune town ship.

We stayed at the lodge before and after our river trip. The view of the mountains was stunning, especially at sunset when the sky was tinted subtle shades of pink. There was a deck chair outside our room and extra chairs in the wardrobe for use on the spacious deck if wished. The rooms were very thoughtfully designed and immaculately...

Thanks to Simon, and our awesome guides Phil and Fraser for the best way to wind down at the end of the working year. Well organised, yummy food, lots of side adventures. Thoroughly recommended. No cell phones, just good old fashioned chat, laughter, cards and games. Great bunch of people on the trip out to enjoy the amazing scenery and...

A couple of years ago I canoed the Wanganui River with Canoe Safaris, out of all my friends I had the least canoeing experience but the staff/guides at Canoe Safaris were excellent. They made me feel incredibly safe and confident on the river so I was able to admire the beautiful scenery and not worry about falling in! This time...
