Recently we spent two nights at this motel and stayed in the studio accommodation. We found the room clean and the bed very comfortable. It was great to have the kitchen facilities. We arrived late in the evening and found the hosts Scott and Dara had left the heater on which was lovely as it was a very cold night....

I've had the chance to stay at the Alpine on a year-long trip to NZ and it was definitely a lovely place to stay at - be it during the busy winter season or the slower summer season. The hosts, Scott and Dara, will go out of their way to make you feel the most welcome and to cater to...

Alpine motel was ok....a bit noisy and the room we stayed in needed a wee bit of TLC. Things like the door lock being quite loose and sticky, squeeky door hinges etc. We did find that we could hear lots of distracting toilet type noises from the room next door. Not that our neighbors had particularly noisy toilet habits, I...

Have stayed in the backpackers here twice now, first time better than the last. Clean and tidy but small. The social area of the backpackers is tiny. Location however is great - right in centre of town. The bunk bed I had was extremely wobbly and the ladder to get up wasn't accessible due to the curve of the ceiling.

We stayed for a night in the two bedroom chalet on the back of the property. We paid $204 for four adults. The chalet appears to sleep 7 comfortably. It is a 2 story unit of Lockwood construction, with timber ceiling and walls. Downstairs is the lounge (including 2 single beds), kitchen, bathroom with shower, and separate toilet. The kitchen...

Cheap accomodation but not much in the way of facilities. Beds hard, pillows worse. 3 toilets for 30 people and when we stayed a toilet was full of crap (literally) and on day 2 the managers seemed suprised by this, so I guess it's not cleaned daily. Toilet paper ran out too. Kitchen would be great if more than one...

The unit was warm and inviting and the wonderful hosts had the fire going on our arrival which was wonderful -thanks. We had plenty of room for everyone and beds leftover. The motel is handy to everything including restaurants and bars and plenty of places to hire ski gear. We will definitely return and stay again. Thanks

Lovely hosts were more than happy to help with any request, room (backed on to New World) was very quiet, very clean, nice spa to soak sore muscles in at the end of a busy day. We had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Scott and Dara are wonderful hosts. The backpackers accommodation can be noisy so we go for the motel rooms these days. The extra cost is worth it for a comfortable bed and the peace and quiet. If budget is a factor then the backpackers during the week is mostly quiet.

Top place, great hosts! We have a large family with four children, so places to stay are limited. We were told that Alpine had a family unit which would accommodate. We booked straight away in case we missed out. I then read some reviews and all of them were bad. ranging from very noisy to just "Don't stay here". I...
