We booked this hotel because 1) We had a special coupon book, and 2) because when we called the hotel booking office in February, we were told they were in Talkeetna. WRONG! They are a 1 hour bus ride from Talkeetna, which they charge $10 per person. We got there and it was unseasonably warm for the month of June....

The McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge was the perfect finale for our first trip to Alaska. We had packed 11 days with cruising, excursions, rafting, fishing, whale watching, etc. Having two days in a serene, peaceful setting was just what we needed. Our room was spacious, comfortable and attractive. It was near the restaurants and main lodge. We walked trails, took...

Rooms are dated and without wife. Only food option is on site restaurants where food are average but expensive (as expected in Alaska far from any cities). Many rooms are a few minutes walk from the main lodge where the main activities (and wifi) are. Take advantage of the walking trails on the property.

This is a beautiful place to stay! It does not have air conditioning but that adds to the wilderness feel. We stayed with small children and we were almost the only ones with kids. At first we were a little worried that our rambunctious children (2 and 5 years old) would not be welcome but the amazing staff put us...

Absolutely stunning views. Adequate rooms. We arrived opening week and the heat wasn't working in our room. It took a few calls to get some attention but it did get fixed. The rooms are spread among many buildings so if you have any mobility issues be sure to ask for a room close to the main building. Also, there isn't...

We stayed one night on our Princess Cruise Tour. The rooms have that dated feel to them, but are clean, spacious, quiet and very comfortable. Wifi is complementary but not available in rooms. The location is fabulous and the main lodge area has lots of space to relax, chat or just sit and take in the beautiful scenic views. A...

This felt very old-fashioned 'Lodgy'. You know the type the one where Bing Crosby comes out singing. They have a gorgeous deck that has a lookout at Mount McKinley although unfortunately we weren't able to see McKinley due to clouds. The room was large and basic and while I don't think this would apply to all of them we were...

We were lucky enough to be able to see Denali on both days that we were here. The whole property is oriented for the best views when Denali decides to show itself. The property is set up with individual buildings of about 40 rooms each. The rooms were nice, but were very warm in the absence of A/C. We arrived...

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of the Tauck Grand Alaska tour. Our room was in the newest building, and was comfortable, well appointed, and clean. This is not a "5 star" hotel, but an excellent facility in a rustic setting. The main restaurant was very well run, with efficient and professional service by all staff members. We...

This is part Two of a review of a Princess ground tour Fairbanks - Denali - Anchorage. We purchased the package from Vacations to Go. The itinerary from Vacations to Go had us arriving at Princess Denali Lodge on the first afternoon with time to explore to the park on the second morning - leaving by bus to Princess McKinley...
