Detailed Reviews
On our way back from Fairbanks Harley Davidson Rolling on the River 2015 Rally. Stopped in Sheep Creek Lodge to have lunch. Discovered the road was closed due to wildfire in Willow AK. Found Gigglewood by accident. They had 2 rooms. We reserved both rooms because we had other bikers looking for a place to sleep. When we pulled into the driveway we all were taken aback by the place we saw in front of us. When we met Linda & Larry Cline again we were taken aback. They are wonderful folks. Took exceptional care of us as last minute invaders. Would recommend Gigglewood highly for a quiet weekend retreat as a honeymoon place or just for unwinding. The view is outstanding. Great people and well thought out rooms.

We stayed in Willow for various outdoor activities during the Iditarod. This is an excellent location for the Sunday restart (2015 - was in Fairbanks on Monday). You are 5 minutes from Dallas Seavey's kennel and dog sled rides and 30-45 minutes from snowmobiling in Trapper Creek or visiting the scenic town of Talkeetna. The owners are very helpful and resourceful!

Gigglewood is off the highway and the drive into site is wandering and at times rough. Upon arrival you enter into a picturesque setting at lakeside. The owners and hosts our a delightful couple and they share the hospitality duties quite well. We had a unit that overlooked the lake. While the resort is a fishing destination we travelers were treated to a very warm welcome and super stay. Found in a travel publication we took a chance and won. If you travel to Alaska in June BEWARE of the mosquitoes but that is everywhere. Purchase your DEET before it's too late.

We took our best man (of over 40 years ago) and his wife to this hideaway in July 2012--for the best time of their 10 day visit to Alaska. Perfect weather didn't hurt, but the two suite apartment/cabin was just right and had gorgeous pristine views over the lake, with a really cool gigglewood stairway leading down to the water's edge.
Dinners were easy to cook in the well equpped kitchen and dining al fresco was lovely under the sweet canopy just steps from the cabin. Add to that the absolutely warmly welcoming hosts, Linda and Larry Cline, and the rest of their large grounds and (superbly done) suites, and we have to go back, soon!

Arrived at Gigglewood around 10pm for 1 night. Owner very friendly. We stayed in the Lakeside Cottage, which had a full kitchen, 2 twin beds flanking a picture window overlooking the lake, and another twin bed in the dining area. No separate rooms, but separte use areas. I thought it was charming.
Driving to the B&B I was a bit nonplussed to discover that I had to travel 5 miles on non-paved roads. When I mentioned this to our host, he said " You can't visit Alaska without going on gravel roals" How true this turned out to be.
Breakfast was fun the next morning. Owners made a delicious baked omelet, banana bread and blueberry bread. Fresh fruit, juices and toast were also available. Dining room overlooked the lake and it was entertaining talking to our host and other visitors about their alaskan experiences.

The accomodations were splendid. Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom (with heated tiles for chilly feet!), his and hers sink, very nice bed and a kitchenette. The B&B overlooks a wide, shallow lake with waterfowl and a beaver pond. We went out in the paddleboat, and they also have mountain bikes for you to use. The owners are very much into fishing, and due to this fact and the location of the B&B it makes a great home base from which to go fishing in the area. We used it as a place to just relax for a day; it was a midway point between the interior and coastal legs of our Alaska vacation. It was a great move on our part, because it was the perfect place to just sit and enjoy the peace and the scenery. I'd specifically recommend this either for people who want to fish in the area, or for people like us who are looking for an idyllic place to rest. Oh, and breakfast was DIVINE.

Gigglewood was great! Private bedrooms, in a building off to the side from the main house, private bathroom. Their backyard is a large pond/small lake, which they offer free canoes to paddle around and see their resident beaver. Also free bikes to ride around. The hosts are birdwatchers, and they have funny bear stories they tell you at breakfast. Gigglewood is, however, kind of in the middle of nowhere. They're about an hour from Anchorage up the Denali highway, and then you drive about 5 miles down dirt road. The surrounding Alaska forest is beautiful, though. If you want to get away from it all, this is a good way to do it.

Larry and Linda are friendly and gracious hosts. We stayed in the five person cabin which has two bathrooms and is split for privacy into two parts. It was well equipped, although you need to bring a hairdryer if you require one. Our boys fished. This is close to Talkeetna where we did ATV rides and drove to Denali. If you plan to go to Denali, but want to save mo way by staying a little farther away, this is a great choice.

This was our first stop on the road in Alaska. We wanted a quiet place to relax after a way too long flight (thanks United Air). This place is off the beaten path and lies on a nice little lake. Very clean and cozy in the 'wilderness'. No view of the mountains but beautiful lake and woods and the owners are charming host. It rained hard all one day, but we wanted to relax a bit anyway.

7 of us went stayed here 4 nights doing some salmon fishing. The facilities were great, even had a cleaning station for us. The view is second to none over looking the lake. Our hosts were always friendly and helpful. You won't be disappointed!
