Mid-way between Willow and Talkeetna, Alaska...20 miles north of Willow and 26 miles south of Talkeetna, this is a great mid-way place to stay between Anchorage and Denali National Park. Three lovely "edge of the wilderness" vacation cabin rentals overlook Upper Caswell Lake, 5 miles from George Parks Highway #1 at Milepost 87.9. Centrally located near many outdoor activities and attractions, cabins are quiet and private...the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the peaceful sights and sounds of nature between your local adventures. All cabins have kitchens/kitchenettes and are fully furnished, just bring food and clothes! Cabin rentals include WiFi, use of paddle boat, mountain bikes, outdoor gazebo, gas grill and fire pit. Freezer space and outdoor fish cleaning station are also complimentary for our angling guests.
Larry and Linda are friendly and gracious hosts. We stayed in the five person cabin which has two bathrooms and is split for privacy into two parts. It was well equipped, although you need to bring a hairdryer if you require one. Our boys fished. This is close to Talkeetna where we did ATV rides and drove to Denali. If you plan to go to Denali, but want to save mo way by staying a little farther away, this is a great choice.

I stayed at Gigglewood for 2 weeks. Linda and Larry Cline are the most genuine, warm people. The accommodations were right on a beautiful lake. Quiet, clean, peaceful. My trip to Alaska would not have been complete without staying at Gigglewood. Thank you Linda and Larry for giving me a wonderful memory.

Ok, so I have never bothered to review a place where we didn't stay. So I don't blame you for moving on from this review, but I did have to stop in here on TA to say a few things about Gigglewood Lakeside Inn. My family was in Alaska for 2 weeks for a huge family vacation. We rented a car and traveled all over the state. We were literally just passing through and saw a sign for Gigglewood. We had time and decided to drive to it and take a cute photo of all of us laughing. Instead, when we pulled in, we were greeted by Linda Cline. She and her husband own this lakeside get-a-way. We told her why we stopped and was SO NICE. She showed us around, explained the history of why they call their place Gigglewood and invited us in for a short visit. My children were shown TRUE hospitality by a stranger who did not stand to gain anything from us. We were just passing through and she had nothing to sell us or gain from us. But she took so much time, show us around, told us about the animals that frequent their lake and we talked about the local passion, dog-mushing. When we go to new places, we try to buy a Christmas tree ornament to remind us of our visit. In AK, that would be a moose, or bear or eagle. However, for us, we came home with an ornament of a loon, one of the birds that Mrs. Cline told us all about. I can't imagine how well they would take care of actual guests!…

My friend and I stayed here in the month of July, a very popular month for visiting Alaska. It was so calm and peaceful here, the rooms are beautiful and the lake contributes to the beauty. We particularly liked watching the Arctic Loons diving for fish. Larry and Linda are perfect innkeepers. Linda went above and beyond finding things for us to do, and her recommendations were right-on. Even the prices are quite reasonable, especially considering how expensive Alaska can be in the summer. I highly recommend Gigglewood!

Our family of five arrived at Gigglewood and immediately took a collective breath and totally relaxed. What an amazingly beautiful and peaceful place. Larry and Linda are the best hosts we've ever encountered and every conversation was delightful. They felt like good friends by the time we pulled out of the driveway. The cabins/units are so well thought out - the craftsmanship evident with even the smallest of details. All of us had fun in the paddle boat and our boys had a hoot swimming and playing in the lake. A most wonderful place to get away! We will be back.

My husband and i booked this to just get away for a few days and relax, we booked the lakeside rental for its size and full kitchen. It is described as a 2 bedroom which it is not. One side of the cabin has a queen bed and bathroom then u go through an outside hall to the other side which has an open area with 3 single beds a 1/2 table with 2 folding chairs and a small kitchen with no vent hood so we were asked to use it as little as possible. To use the grill outside in the common area. There was no frying pan or sheet pan actually the kitchen was sparsely furnished for cooking utinsels. When we arrived we were told there was a mistake and the lakeside was booked that night so we were put in another smaller rental which was very nice but small bit we had to be out of there by 11:30 and couldnt get into lakeside untill 2 for cleaning. Which was a big inconvienance. Especially that it was raining. Which it rained the whole weekend which would of not bothered us we would of been happy just relaxing inside but all there was to sit on was folding chairs or the plastic outside chairs very uncomfortable. No wifi in the lakeside rental although the ad says wifi we were told we had to go outside to get signal or we could come over to office. If you want to do anything in the rentals except sleep these arent the rentals for you. The beds are comfortable. Another thing that really bothered us it says stocked with breakfast items. There were open boxes of cereal a pitcher half full of orange juice from the previous renters. I dont know if thet stuck their dirty hands in the cereal or drank out of the container of juice. Or put their hands all over the 1/2 loaf of bread. Not very sanitary. The lakeside rental was nowhere as nice as the first smaller place and had a musty stinch. It just was not condusive to a relaxing get away very dissapointed …

This was our first stop on the road in Alaska. We wanted a quiet place to relax after a way too long flight (thanks United Air). This place is off the beaten path and lies on a nice little lake. Very clean and cozy in the 'wilderness'. No view of the mountains but beautiful lake and woods and the owners are charming host. It rained hard all one day, but we wanted to relax a bit anyway.

On our way back from Fairbanks Harley Davidson Rolling on the River 2015 Rally. Stopped in Sheep Creek Lodge to have lunch. Discovered the road was closed due to wildfire in Willow AK. Found Gigglewood by accident. They had 2 rooms. We reserved both rooms because we had other bikers looking for a place to sleep. When we pulled into the driveway we all were taken aback by the place we saw in front of us. When we met Linda & Larry Cline again we were taken aback. They are wonderful folks. Took exceptional care of us as last minute invaders. Would recommend Gigglewood highly for a quiet weekend retreat as a honeymoon place or just for unwinding. The view is outstanding. Great people and well thought out rooms.

We stayed in Willow for various outdoor activities during the Iditarod. This is an excellent location for the Sunday restart (2015 - was in Fairbanks on Monday). You are 5 minutes from Dallas Seavey's kennel and dog sled rides and 30-45 minutes from snowmobiling in Trapper Creek or visiting the scenic town of Talkeetna. The owners are very helpful and resourceful!

7 of us went stayed here 4 nights doing some salmon fishing. The facilities were great, even had a cleaning station for us. The view is second to none over looking the lake. Our hosts were always friendly and helpful. You won't be disappointed!
