We reserved a King Executive Suite which was valued at $250. We used our miles to reserve the room for my birthday. When we arrived, the hotel was under renovations. We shrugged it off. We went to our room and took a nap, not really looking around. The front desk called to see if everything ok. I said yes. Then when we got up we started really looking at the room. The furniture was in the worst condition of anyplace we’ve ever stayed. As you can see in the pic, the chair was shredded. The view out the window was of the roof. The couch and dining chairs were so soiled that I had to put towels on them to sit on them and would not walk barefoot on soiled carpet. The rooms across from us were being painted, so paint fumes were not pleasant. I called to the front desk to change and there were no options available. When I asked him if he thought it was appropriate for torn up furniture in their most expensive suite, he replied that the new furniture was stuck in transit. I said “I guess we’ll just have to make do, Happy Birthday to me”. The clerk hung up on me. In my entire life, I have never had anyone working in the “Hospitality Industry” treat me that way. I did mention what had happened to the front desk clerk the next morning. She said there was nothing she could do since it was booked through Expedia. She would let Management know. She hoped Management would reach out to me. It’s been a week and no reaching out. We did not let it ruin my birthday, but I’ve stayed in $30 hotel rooms that were in better condition. To their credit, the grab and go breakfast was superior to some and the bed was comfortable.

The stay was OK. We were traveling through the country over to the east coast and we have stayed at this hotel before when doing long road trips. When we got in I really needed to use the restroom after a 6 hr drive. They were doing construction in the lobby (we had no idea we did not receive an email or a phone call) so the lobby restroom was closed. I stopped by the desk to ask if they had another restroom I could use and the front desk agent just said no. So I had to drive over to a nearby gas station.... the room was fine. Beds were comfy and it was very clean. However around 11pm as we were falling asleep the fire alarm went off and scared us half to death. No warning no instruction so naturally we ran outside. Nothing was happening and the front desk did apologize. Overall the stay was OK but the hotel is lacking communication

Hi Handydandytraveler, I'm glad you choose our hotel for your visit to Casa Grande. Thank you for staying. We promise a comfortable and convenient experience for all of our guests. I'm sorry you experienced issues with the stay, especially with the current renovations, lobby restroom, and fire alarm. I can see these dampened your visit. Trust that I alerted our management about this so we can make the necessary changes to better our service. We appreciate your feedback about your stay and looking forward to your next travel. Many Thanks, Rein D Case Manager IHGService

Stayed a week for work and COVID restrictions hampered food service, swimming pool and exercise facilities. The room was large, the bed was very comfortable. The receptacles on the lamps didn’t work for my phone but overall very comfortable.

Great bed. Limited work & luggage space. Hair dryer was a pain - had to hold down button constantly to keep it running. Very good hot breakfast. Every staff member we encountered was exceptionally nice and helpful.

I had to travel to Casa Grande for work, i looked at the reviews ETC and opted for HIE. I arrived at around 9PM, Check in was friendly and smooth, the lift is to your right. I had a room on the 2nd flood not far from the lift. The room itself was a pretty good size with a nice "American" bed, their was also a coffee maker and microwave. The best thing about this hotel (by far) is the bed, its one of the most comfortable i have ever been in. The rest goes downhill, i walk into the bathroom and find long black hairs on the bath, the towels were nice though. I drifted off to sleep quite quickly only to be woken by the bing bong of the lift arriving at level 2, The upshot is every sound from the outside in the corridor, bedrooms either side and above can be heard in detail & i mean detail. I was then wandering what the low hum was and after tracing it to outside it turned out to be the Walmart lorry parked on the waste ground outside with the refrigeration engine running, this continues to the early hours until it left (every night) The following morning i used the breakfast facilities, the best thing was the OJ , the hot selection was help yourself, never before in the US have i had to eat of paper plates with plastic knives and forks - Classy. Their are lots of hotels in a short distance along Florence 287, they cant be any worse??

Hello Chris_HV8806JU, Thank you for leaving us your review and for making us a part your visit here in Casa Grande. We are grateful that you've chosen the Holiday Inn Express to host you. Bringing the brilliant basics, and a little more where it matters most is certainly what makes our chain standout from the rest. Though it made me smile that you had a great night sleep thanks to our beds and the room suitably ideal to your needs, I understand that it wasn't the case all throughout. I'm sorry to make you uneasy with the lapses in the room upkeep, elevator noise, and the dining paraphernalia used. I feel your disappointments that even if the breakfast options were appetizing, using plastic spoons and Styrofoam plates is not the best way to do so. Don't worry, I took the necessary steps to ensure our management gets to read your post and be discussed amongst all concerned staff. We are always on the lookout for ways to make your experience memorable. Reviews such as this goes a long way in identifying areas where we can improve. We may not have gotten off the right foot but I'm positive to make it better for your next stay. Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your stay with us. Best regards, Frank A. Case Manager IHGService
