comfortable place to stay in the Braamfontein area of Johannesbourg . You will be greeted by incredibly friendly staff , and they will take good care of you ! On the street level you find an interesting bar/pub/restaurant ! But I would have preferred air conditionning in the room !

The location or area in which the hotel is situated is ideal for young out-going fun people however, the prescheduled DSTV channels are a bore together with the breakfast. I had to add an additional fee at the restaurant to receive a decent meal. I am was particularly annoyed by the storage area below the bed. Nevertheless, the pricing of...

On my arrival I struggled to get towels for me to take a shower and attend a function. Supervisor of the cleaning staff who was at the passage I asked her to assist with towels and she was very rude. Linen dirty and full of stains, had to change it at night. I was made to pay more than what...

The service was very good and staff was very friendly and the hotel was neat. I enjoyed my stay.... The only thing that was not good is the breakfast. I have nothing to add but the service was the best except the cooking. If you can only improve there then it will be the best hotel ever.

What I like about the hotel is the bar/dinning area and the breakfast is good at a low price. The majority of the stuff was friendly and willing to assist. The problem was the lamp mounted right on top of head of the bed. And there wasn't really much space in the room..... other than that I won't mind going...

We stayed over at the hotel for one night. It was pleasant, the rooms neat and clean as well as the bathrooms. The downstairs bar had good music and food. The breakfast the next day was good as well. The parking is a hit hidden but the staff do come out to help you. Will stay there again.

The rooms are simple, but pleasant. The hotel is located in a safe neighborhood with good bars and restaurants. However, these bars do cause quite a bit of noise at night and there's no way of getting away from this in your room.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Bannister Hotel is a new hotel in Braamfontein, Johannesburg. Across Mandela Bridge from the inner-city, the district is the most exciting area of Johannesburg & has enjoyed a remarkable turnaround to become the place to be for hipsters, academics & many of South Africa's corporate head offices. The hotel is beautifully styled but remains casual, warm and welcoming, a second home to our regular guests. If your seeking the exciting experience that Johnnesburg can be, The Bannister Hotel is the key to unlocking the vibrancy of the Africa's most happening city. The restaurant & bar are beautiful and the conference room opened in 2016. There are a number of great bars and places to eat in the immediate neighbourhood. We are also close several galleries, theatres, museums & the cities transport networks. The area and the hotel can be noisy on Friday & Saturday evenings. We have sound-proofed windows but if your sensitive to noise, avoid staying here on Friday and Saturday. ... more   less
