This is a fabulous place to chill out in while in Plettenberg bay- the only problem me and friends had with this lodge was the noise level at reception extremely early both mornings- but overall it was a great place to stay with great staff and lovely food on offer!

Once you managed the gravel road to the gate you're right in the beatufil scenery of this hostel. Overlooking a huge lake, seeing Robberg nature Reserve at the far distance from the hostel's porch where the fire is aleady alight. Make sure to be there before sunset. Friendly staff, many food options, drinks at the bar. Perfect place to be....

The place is very good, comfortable, friendly staff and guests. Awesome view from the deck. We stayed there for only one night during garden route to do the bungee jump from bloukrans bridge (45 minutes from the lodge), but we would like to stay more.

The African Array Lodge is fantastic - a place you must stay at if you are visiting Plettenburg Bay. Despite the long off-road drive, it is worth it for the incredible view from the property. The rooms are clean and the facilities are excellent - we would recommend it to anyone.

We had a wonderful stay in the hostel. The scenery was amazing and the atmosphere was very peaceful. It's a 15 minute drive from the beach and the city, if you are not coming with a car the staff run a shuttle service to every activity in the area. It was perfect for us, cause it's great to relax, and...

Had an amazing time at African Array. All the staff are and extremely helpful and go out of their way to help. Full kitchen facility with Braai. They cook for you as well and the food was great. Didn't have our own vehicle so we required the shuttle to and from town but the staff was more then happy to...

Sunrise and sunset, both worth being awake for at this place. The location is beautiful and secluded. The hosts immediately make you feel at home. In my six weeks in Cape Town, I made two separate trips to the Lodge. Food was very good, and the 24 hour bar is quite convenient.

African Array is everything a hostel should be. The staff is extremely caring and helpful and the facilities well equipped. We only stayed for a night and wish we could've longer. Loved sitting on their deck which offers spectacular views of the ocean in the distance, the sunrise should just not be missed. The best part - bar is open...

We only stayed 2 nights and it was too short. A friendly happy place. Clean rooms, attentive staff and even though it is out in the wilds, it is safe. We had a beautiful view from our veranda and bathroom. You need time there to just sit and enjoy it.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This one of a kind hostel and lodge is nestled between an array of Fynbos(Wild flowers)on a cliff with a 270 degree panoramic view overlooking a lake all the way to the warm Indian ocean and the Robberg Peninsula. We believe we have the most fantastic view on the Garden Route and seeing is believing. A true hidden GEM.Relax with a book in the garden on one of the hammock under the trees or surf the net on our free WIFI. The building is a beautiful Villa with high ceilings and large windows so you never miss out on the view where ever you are in the Lodge. All our bedrooms have a fantastic view with lots of natural light at anytime of the day. The atmosphere is homely and we pride our self on giving our guest the VIP treatment at all times. Fancy catering for your self, our kitchen is well equipped and you will need nothing else to prepare any meal. If you feel like having a braai(BBQ) then we will light up the fire and provide you the spices. The beers is always cold and the fires always hot so why not spoil your self and pay us a visit. ... more   less
