The room was very comfortable and the owner is extremely friendly had helpful. He went out of his way to relay messages to us regarding our transportation when our flight was delayed and our luggage lost. I would recommend this place which is just off the main street of Melville. The only downside of this hotel is the deep bath...

This was the first time staying here. There were a group of 6 of us and some did not make it on time due to airline delay. Greg was so helpful relaying messages between the 2 groups and helping us with anything we needed. The location is perfect and the room is basic but clean. I would definitely stay here...

Room was slightly bare and lacked soap in the bathroom but was comfortable and quiet and good value for a very reasonable price. Heater in the room was not working at the time. Breakfast on the stoep sitting in the sun was wonderful and a great start to the day.

Thanks very much for your review and feedback :-) We do provide soap and shower gel in each room. Thanks for drawing the information that we forgot to provide you with the correct items. We are in the process of adding more features to each room to make them more colorful and inviting :-) Thanks Greg

For the two decades that I have been traveling to South Africa I nearly always start and/or end my trip in Melville. I have stayed in well more than a dozen B&B's in the area. Sleepy Gecko is one of the best. This was my first time staying there and it was fantastic -- the location cannot be beaten, my...

Hi Derek, Thanks very much for your kind review :-). Regarding the satellite TV we switched to StarSat as they have a large selection of music, news, and french TV channels. This includes the local SABC channels. This was a strategic move as we offer supersport and DSTV sports channels in the coffee bar so that we can encourage people...

The sleepy gecko guesthouse is a nice small one. Breakfast was good an there is a little pool outside. Around the corner there are lots of bars and restaurants and you feel safe in that area. The rooms are nice and with a freestanding bathtube. The owner is friendly and offers help if needed.

We tried to call several numbers during the day but no answer. When 1 did pick they said we had the wrong number but it is on the website! They gave us another number but again no one picked. A pity because it seemed like a nice pace to stay

The guesthouse is a bit tired and needs some work. The room was okay, but not for the price we paid - I thought it was expensive. The breakfast was dreadful - the young man in charge of the kitchen had never cooked in his life and did not know how to make scrambled or poached eggs. A trip down...

I was exhausted when I arrived at the Sleepy Gecko, and was delighted to find a lovely big bath, huge bed with down duvets and a quiet environment. It was exactly what I was looking for, and I couldn't believe the value. Breakfast was delicious, too, and the staff kindly let me leave my bag with them for a while...

Sleepy Gecko was in a great location close to good restaurants, bars and shopping. It made getting around Melville extremely easy. The rooms were nice and the staff were very friendly. We would stay here again if we were in the area.
