This place is appalling. Avoid at all costs. I stayed for 2 nights around Christmas 2014. The guesthouse "made a mistake" and overcharged me on my credit card - illegally deducting 2000 ZAR that i had not authorised. After phoning many times and sending several emails finally they admitted they had overcharged me and promised to carry out a refund...

Spent a total of 8 weeks in this guesthouse and a couple of nights would have been enough. The rooms are very nice and the place has got character and potential, the cleaning ladies took good care of the rooms, were very friendly and it was always clean. The dog, Boris, is the sweetest we've ever met and a good...

Well Located and Close to 7th ave with lots of Cafés bars and Restaurants and it seemed to be Safe. Very friendly Black Ladies Who made the rooms clean. White Staff somehow acting like sleepy geckos but all in all the guesthouse was Worth its Money, especially the Second day when we finally got a breakfast on request. Cute dog.

I booked for 2 nights, but abandoned the place after the 1st night without even bothering to try to get a refund, I just don't want to further engage with this house of horrors. Let's start with the positives: 1. Great location, if you like the 7th Street scene in Melville. Although Melville is tatty now, without being bohemian. 2....

the rooms have their charme, the Location is very good but there seems to be a serious Management Problem: staff did not reply to emails before my stay, I almost did not get into the guesthouse (bell broken), one day there was no breakfast - the whole place seems really neglected in Terms of management. On the plus side that...

What we needed was peace and relaxation, and your more than comfortable beds offered us more relaxation than we bargained for. All in all, we left with good vibes. We did, however, have our fair share of issues with the room, the biggest one being that the DStv did not work for the duration of our stay, despite the matter...

Very friendly and helpful service. Conveniently close to the nightlife and restaurants of Melville yet surprisingly quiet. The laid back homeliness was just what we needed after a long drive. Will definitely stay again when next in Johannesburg.

After one week of safari we enjoyed our quick stay in Johannesburg. The guesthouse is nice and especially our room (superior double) was great. Very spacious room and bathroom and comfy bed. The bathtub needs some kind of a curtain as you literally flood the entire bathroom once you take a shower. Furthermore, we would have wished to have wifi...

We checked in on the evening of Friday 5 December 2014. The air conditioner in the reserved room was not working. We were moved to. Another room which seemed OK. In the middle of the night we were awoken by a dramatic lovers tiff outside our window. In the morning when we woke up there was no one available to...

A nice and safe place to stay if you want to visit Johannesburg. In Melville a few nice restaurants and bars are within walking distance. The first day the owner took us by car to the center, excellent service. But you can also take a bus (Rea Vaya) to Johannesburg.
