Booked this hotel for an overnights' rest coming from Zambia. It was a really good choice. Rooms/Suite was HUGE with quirky features like safe hidden behind painting in room, restaurant with tables located in 4 inches of water in the pool. Beautiful artwork. Very friendly and professional service.

Service here is universally superb and listing the few little hospitality niggles seems petty, but what else are you reading TA for? I’ll try to pitch this as expectation management. The location is very convenient; in the middle of one of the nicest sterile, safe, access-controlled, security-encrusted town center precincts that Johannesburg excels at developing. Parking is an extra fee...

Booked hotel rooms a day prior to insure checkin availability early the next morning - and contacted hotel directly to make sure there would be no issues (which they insured there would not be any) - when checking in they still were one hotel room short for my business group. Hotel staff was very apologetic and very swiftly had a...

Spent our last night in South Africa at the African pride and ended the trip on a very positive note. Front desk staff were great, buffet breakfast was one of the best, and rooms clean and comfortable. Good value for the price and the M &M's are a nice touch. Secure location with lots of restaurants nearby

Tv and cd/dvd system is also good. Enjoyed my stay and location is handy for restaurants etc. Shopping very...

I stayed here for a business trip in November 2014. This is located in a great spot within the Melrose Arch gated park. I ate breakfast in the hotel each morning which was great. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating as i was traveling by myself.

We were stopping on Johannesburg overnight after a long flight from Atlanta before a long tour on the way to safari. This was just what we needed. Used the hotel to book a transfer from the airport. The neighborhood was bustling and busy with restaurants and shopping. We felt very safe walking around which was important. The rooms were awesome,...

this is my third stay at this hotel and I would definitely recommend it! Now that Protea has merged with Marriott you earn points with Marriott as well. The staff is excellent, very welcoming and accommodating. The hotel itself is beautiful and it has a great bar and a magnificent breakfast/brunch. The location is perfect, come to many restaurants and...

We had stayed at this hotel twice previously and felt it to be the best hotel in the African Pride group of hotels. My wife and I have stayed at a number of their other hotels and feel that it is superior in their attention to detail and the general level of service. The breakfasts at this hotel are outstanding...
