We (a party of five friends from Germany) stayed at Rutland House in September 2011, it was the first night of our South-Africa tour. What a nice place and a warm welcome to South Africa, I cannot imagine a better opportunity in Jo'burg to relax and feel at home after a long flight, enjoying a quiet surrounding, a lovely garden...

I recently moved to Johannesburg, and for my first 4 weeks stayed at the Rutland House B&B. I had never been to South Africa before so didn't know what to expect. From the moment I arrived at Rutland House, Delia made me feel at home straight away. Delia is the perfect host, she made sure I was ok and had...

Delia is a fantastic host, she gave us some really good tips for having dinner. We decided for the CNR cafe two blocks away and she made a reservation for us. The good thing is that this part of town is safe so we could even walk there. It was very nice. The rooms in Rutland House are welcoming, very...

We arranged for our daughter and her boyfriend to stay at Rutland House for the final week of their visit to South Africa. It was so easy to contact Delia to make the very last minute arrangements we needed. She was extremely helpful and reassuring about their stay. She took care of everything, including transportation and excursions. Our young travelers...

Thank you Maria, for your kind comments in your review. You must be very proud of your lovely daughter, it was fun having them to stay and seeing how much they got out of their time in Johannesburg. I told you they would be fine and safe here as I am a real mother hen when necessary. Next time it...

We spent two nights at Rutland House on our way to safari in Botswana and could not be more satisfied with the welcome and our accommodation. After an exhausting 13 hour plane trip from Australia our group of four enjoyed the warm ambiance of the home and Delia's efficient yet homely approach to her guests. On our last visit we...

Driving through the secure gate into the courtyard was like entering a new and inviting world. Peace and tranquility in a bustling big city. A truly unique environment--we felt that we had just been transported to a lovely country cottage. Picturesque gardens, quaint rooms and suites (cottages). Total relaxation! The owner, Delia, is a gem of a person, friendly and...

This place is great, but Delia makes it extra special. It seems that nothing is too much trouble for her and she manages to organise a lot of extra things whilst still doing the basics brilliantly. We hope to return- one day was too short

I stayed here with my 12 year old son for four nights on the first leg of a trip also taking in Zambia and Cape Town. We heard all sorts of horror stories about Joburg before travelling. However, we could not have felt safer and more comfortable here. At Delia's prior suggestion we hired a car and also, for some...
