It was my second time in Durban, and my second time at the Mackaya Bella. And it won't be my last. If you're in Durban for business or vacation, this is the best place to stay. A super-friendly couple and friendly staff to help with the stay, a delicious breakfast, quiet gardens, a quiet neighborhood, and even a pool --...

I would go back, business or pleasure. Friendly, comfortable, perfect. Breakfast is to order and you get it exactly as you want it. You can watch it cooking if you like. Fruit and grains laid out on the side board if you prefer. Coffee freshly ground and delicious. Evening meals are available and very good. We did go into Durban...

On a business trip, our institution book our team at this guest house. It is close to the place we would be working (DUT). Mike and Nicki are nice people and great hosts. The room was spacious with private bathroom and amenities such as a small fridge. Blessed be the air conditioner that worked greatly!

My stay at Mackaya Bella Guest house was wonderful. The rooms are spacious, private, clean and provides everything one could require. The staff members were very friendly and accommodating, even willing to set aside dinner for me as I needed to be at evening functions at the time dinner was served. The guest house also serves delicious vegetarian meals and...

Thank you Mariza for the lovely review. It really is appreciated. The guest house was built prior to us owning it and therefore we were not part of the planning and unfortunately the car park cannot be expanded. However we still have bakkies and vans that manage to get in and out :)

Had an awesome stay, got awesome treatment and wouldn't have preferred to go any where else. The breakfast was amazing, not limited like some of the guest houses I've stayed at. Mostly I appreciated being greeted by my name, Thanks guys!! :-)

The owners were friendly and helpful, the room comfortable and the breakfast plentiful. It is set in quiet surroundings with good parking. One downside was rising damp in the bathroom which made the room smell of damp.

Thank you so much for the feedback Italia - we really appreciate it. We're glad you enjoyed all the positive things about Mackaya Bella. Unfortunately the room you were in is set a little lower than the driveway so it can be prone to damp. We re-paint it once a year and treat with damp proofing, but weren't aware that...
