I initially intended on staying for one night and ended up staying for three. Garry's hospitality was beyond what I had ever experienced before. The cottage is located in a quiet, safe neighborhood, located a short bike bike ride from the beach. The facilities are clean and well looked after. The prices are cheap considering what you get, so if...

We stayed for four nights in January. Such friendly owners and relaxed athmosphere in a nice neighbourhood. Clean, spacious dorm and good choice of breakfasts. Would definitely recommend and return there if we ever come to SA again.

Thanks for making me feel at home again! There is nothing I can complain about: very friendly hosts, awesome roommates, lovely pool. I am sure you will also enjoy your stay and if you don't know what to do in Durban, Pat and Keith will for sure help you to find something. :)

Smiths cottage is fine, the area is nice and quiet. Though the location is far away of everything and if you don't have a car it will be very difficult to move around. The owners provide transfers from and to Durban station-50 rand each way. The internet is not included.you have to pay extra.

Pat and Keith are kind and lovely people who offer warm and generous hospitality - just wish we had more time than a one night stay. Keith even drove us to get Indian food takeout on that rainy evening. We loved our stay and wish to return someday.

Pat and Keith are exceptional hosts. Although the property is slightly away from downtown, they offer pickup and drop-off rides to central locations. The property is very safe and enjoyable, and the pool is refreshing after a long walk. Pat offers several breakfast options, and is more than happy to chat about life and living in Durban. I arrived to Pat opening the gate singing a song with my name in it. She ordered me dinner and had a nice talk. The next day Keith drove me around so I could do aome shopping and then he dropped me off in central Durban. He also picked me up again. These people are so nice, loved the stay!

It was great to spend a week at Smiths cottage. A real quiet "home away from home". Keith & Pat are great hosts, they go the extra mile to make your stay enjoyable and their friendliness is unlimited. Definitely a really nice place to stay!
