Warm atmosphere welcomed us. Excellent and friendly service impressed us. Aubergine stack was tasty with well balanced flavors. The hand made pasta complements the rich flavors. The Lamb Shank was the best ever. Succulent, flavorful, tender and moist. We had space only for a shared desert.

Beatifully integrated in the landscape. We had a nice and big room with cooking facilities. Everything was tidy and clean. The restaurant is worth a visit, the waiters were very kind and the meal was delicious.

What a lovely night we had. Staff where the best from checking in to leaving. Food is very good. Room was clean and practical, maybe install a fan for the hot days. Only negative is the stairs need some attention.

Stunning location enjoyed from the verandah tables. Good service, good food, good-size bill. Even the Jack Russell terriers behaved. My fresh trout was a joy to eat while my wife's meal of meat and vegetables was cooked to perfection.

We booked for the Cubata lunch menu for the Saturday. The whole chicken and potato wedges were great! However, the Espetada was a total rip off. R70 for two small 'sosaties' and the prawns selling at R13 a pop were smaller than my thumb. It was something between a medium prawn and a small shrimp. The Greek salad for the...

Dear Zani M Thank you for your review. I know all food prices seem exorbitant at the moment, but really in comparison to what we are paying for it and to other restaurants around South Africa, they're not. The steak Espatada is 250g of Rump and going for R70 is really not that bad. We cut the skewers in half...

What a surprise! ! Wonderful welcoming staff and quaint freestanding units overlooking their dam. Fireplace in the room for those cosy winder days and an exceptionally relaxed atmosphere. We ate the fillet steak with blue cheese sauce and an eisbein to which had no comparison!! I look forward to returning...

we had a really top-notch lunch with excellent food and wonderful service. The waterfall outside made us feel so relaxed. We sat watching the Kingfisher diving for his lunch and enjoyed every minute. Faan Christa and Petro

We stayed in the Guest House for a night on our way to Transkei, the staff was very friendly, Dinner and breakfast was very nice and all in all, we were very comfortable. The house we stayed in, was just very noisy, as you share with other people who come and go at all sorts of hours.

We had a wonderful stay at The Old Hatchery. The accommodation was clean, spacious and included underfloor heating and a nice bathroom. Breakfast and other dishes at the restaurant were very satisfying. WIFI was only available at the main building and could have been a bit better. A very short-term booking of a tour to Sani pass (no must-see, to...

Dear thomastK4417AL Thank you for your review and I'm glad you loved the accommodation. I also wish our wifi was better, stronger and faster. Since we have no ADSL or optic fibre cables like the cities we have to make do with a very expensive satellite dish system which cannot even reach all the corners of the property - a...

Our stay was very enjoyable. The unit is basic, but has everything you need. There is a small dam, which has otters swimming around in the late evening. The restaurant's food is really good, and very affordable.

Dear Chris D I'm glad you liked our rustic little Fishing Cabins. The dam is definitely a welcome relief to us on those hot days when a swim is an absolute necessity. Take care Shelley
