We didn't stay at Satara this trip as we ran out of time but we couldn't resist stopping for breakfast at Mugg and Bean. The food is excellent as is their coffee and the staff are always helpful and friendly and genuinely pleased to see you.

The last time I stayed at this camp, it was being revamped. Every public place was closed for works. What a surprise to discover the new face of Satara, with a comfortable Mugg and Beans restaurant and a huge shop, offering food to the self catering residents but also a lot of other products including good books! The Camp is...

This camp is in the middle and so the feeling inside the camp is eery. you will find a lot of animals flocking around. Also this camp is towards the jungle that have better animal density. Lion sittings are regular. If you are going to Kruger make sure you stay inside these camps for a night at least.

When we visit the Kruger, we only visit Satara! Besides loving the camp that is always clean and well kept, you can be assured you are in the best place in the Kruger to view game. Satara has always been good to us. They offer animal documentaries for kids at an outdoor film area at night. They offer fantastic activities...

It was my families 4th trip to Kruger and as usual it was fantastic. The camps were clean and the staff friendly. The camp shops were good with a good variety of goods. Only down side was lack of variety with choice of restaurant. We self drove and saw the "Big Five". and plenty of other game including cheetah.

Basic rondavel rooms, all the basics. The camp is pretty big and busy, not really much of a bush experience. The highlight was the fact that there was a Mugg & Bean and Debonairs Pizza restaurant on site. Great meals! Everything else was pretty average.

This camp is centrally located in the park. The camp is quite big but does not feel crowded. There is plenty of space between and in front of the bungalows. The bungalow are spacious and the kitchen facilities are good. The pool is great to cool of in and there is a small p[lay area for children. The staff is...

Having visited Kruger since a toddler and now nearing 60, I have been there a lot. I get a sense of belonging mixed with many memories and happiness seeing the familiar routes and camps. I love the Kruger. It's a dry year and I feel for the animals and humans who have to decide to what extent they will help...

In the center of Kruger. The rondavels were good. Kitchen outside, so do not leave anything there. We left some sugar there and the next morning only the small pieces of paper were lying on the ground. People at the reception were very helpful. You 'd better not go on a gamedrive with the big buses with more then 20...

This camp is very simple, the bungalows are big enough and there are facilities to cook your own food. The restaurant is otherwise not great (M & B) and it lacks a nice view. It is very well located in the center of the Kruger Park and there are lots of animals around. When going on a safari, it won't...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Satara is a busy camp, and not without reason. It is situated in an excellent game viewing area, with the bush relatively open and the animals plentiful and diverse. The camp itself has a rustic charm, with the bulk of the accommodation set out in a series of circles. Satara is well wooded and the bird-life is prolific. At night the clink of fruit bats is fused with the chirping of cicadas and crickets. The calls of owls and nightjars add to the symphony that is punctuated intermittently by the whoop of hyena, the screech of jackal and the roars of lion. ... more   less
